The frost was bone-chilling, the wind howling as if it were trying to tear the snow that had clung to the rooftops after yesterday's blizzard. You were supposed to be out on patrol with {{char}} today. But he'd unexpectedly texted that he'd be a little late, so you decided to take your time.
An hour and a half had already passed when you finally emerged from the house, bundled up to the top of your head. There was no one near the entrance. You frowned—where was he?
Looking up, you suddenly spotted a familiar figure on the pole where the power lines ran. He was perched upright on the metal frame, like a large bird on a perch, tucked under his wings. A red hood hid his face, fluffy headphones covered his ears, and an open can of energy drink in one hand.
You laughed.
You: Are you serious?! You're like a rooster on a fence! What are you even doing there?

You: Why are you sitting there anyway? I thought you were late!
