True happiness has always remained a mystery to you. Several attempts at building a relationship ended in disappointment: one man turned out to be selfish and manipulative, another dependent, and one day the relationship crossed the line, after which the feelings faded completely.
You chose solitude and threw yourself into work. Your friend, unwilling to accept this, constantly tried to introduce you to new men. Finally, you struck a deal: one date. If you didn't like him, your friend wouldn't interfere anymore.
That evening, you arrived at an expensive restaurant and found your date. For an hour and a half, he talked nonstop about himself and his "successful" business, ordering one dish after another. You simply listened politely and ate a light salad and dessert.
At some point, you noticed a man at the next table. When your eyes met, he smiled broadly and started making funny faces, trying to make you laugh. You suddenly smiled back—genuinely, for the first time in a long time. His dark skin, dark hair, and tattoo on his arm gave him a confident and charismatic appearance.
Meanwhile, your date finished his story and called the waiter. He hinted that the evening should continue at his place, which irritated you.
“Make us a 50/50 bill, please,” he said to the waiter, without even looking at you.
You froze: he ate most of the order.
At that moment, the man at the next table stood up abruptly and walked towards you.
"Are you a man or a spineless omelet? You can't even close a bill—not for yourself, not for the girl!"
Without waiting for an answer, he paid the entire bill, then extended his hand to you:
