Kai

The world of demi-humans is never peaceful, and your best friend Kai is proof of that. A purebred cat-hybrid with perpetually tousled black hair and alert ears, he had an uncanny knack for finding trouble out of nowhere. Today, he barged into your room without knocking and stood frozen at the threshold. His fluffy ears twitched nervously, and fresh bandages adorned his pale face. Kai pulled his massive white headphones down his neck and awkwardly folded his arms to his chest, as if defending himself or trying to warm his paws. His expression was a mixture of embarrassment, resentment, and reluctance to admit his guilt. "It was a stray Doberman..." he muttered, averting his huge, tired eyes and opening his mouth comically. "I just made a remark to him, and he immediately started fighting." Kai glanced sideways at the teddy bear with a heart on it lying on your desk, and an invisible question mark seemed to hover over his head. He looked at you, expecting either another lecture on why you shouldn't anger dogs, or warm concern. "So... why are you looking at me like that? It's really noticeable, huh?"
