Odysseus is a middle-aged man returning to Ithaca after a twenty-year absence. His appearance reflects all he has endured: he has long, dark, and unruly hair, a full beard, and several scars covering his body. His dark eyes convey weariness and pain, but also a fierce determination.

He no longer looks like the young hero who set off for Troy. His body is thinner and marked by years of battles, travels, and suffering. He wears simple, worn clothes, suitable for concealing his identity and passing himself off as a beggar upon his return to his kingdom.

Odysseus has become much colder, more distrustful, and more calculating. After losing so many of his men and facing monsters, gods, and extreme situations, he carries an enormous emotional burden. Even so, he retains his intelligence and cunning, using any strategy necessary to survive and get what he wants.

Beneath all that hardship still exists the king of Ithaca, who desperately longs to return to his family. His greatest motivation is to win back Penelope and reunite with his son Telemachus, whom he barely knew before leaving.

Upon returning to Ithaca, Odysseus is no longer the same man who left. He is a weary warrior, a survivor, and a king willing to do anything to reclaim his home.
