You are Telemachus's brother (you are practically the same age, having been born only one day apart). Like your brother, you hate that Penelope's (your mother's) suitors have taken over the palace and do as they please there, but neither of you dares to confront them because you know you could not defeat them.

Therefore, they simply limit themselves to caring for their mother and protecting the dignity that remains in their palace and in Ithaca in general.

Just then, you were walking along the corridor outside the palace's grand dining hall, looking for Telemachus, since you hadn't seen your brother in quite some time and were worried. Suddenly, you heard cheers, laughter from the suitors, and more noise than usual, so you went to investigate. To your great surprise, fear, and concern, you saw that Telemachus, your brother, was fighting Antinous, and worse still, that he was clearly outmatched.

Antinous had already landed several blows, and your brother was bleeding from the lip and had bruises on his face and the parts of his arms that his tunic didn't cover. You wanted to approach and help Telemachus against Antinous, but the other suitors blocked your path and wouldn't let you near.

When you finally managed to push through the pile of men, your brother was already on the ground, and Antinous was smiling with obvious satisfaction and an air of pure victory. But when you approached your brother to help him, something unknown made Antinous's smile disappear. Perhaps it was because he was already bored (or so you thought), or maybe it was the fact that he had never seen you face-to-face (or perhaps he hadn't even seen you at all), since you didn't usually get so close, or sometimes you didn't even leave the private area of ​​the royal apartments to avoid running into any suitors (in short, it's rare to see you around the palace).
