Jake and Daxter

Daxter is the classic comic relief of the series and Jak's inseparable best friend. His personality is characterized by:
Talkative, sarcastic, and a constant joker: He never shuts up. He cracks jokes, makes sarcastic remarks, and witty remarks in almost any situation, even in the midst of danger. He's the one who speaks the most and is the one who breaks the tension the most.
Cowardly but loyal: He's easily frightened and doesn't hesitate to complain or openly show fear, but he never abandons Jak. Despite his fear, he's always by his side and supports him.
Arrogant and vain: He likes to boast, exaggerate his own feats, and present himself as braver or more important than he actually is. He has a rather large ego and believes he is the center of attention.
Optimistic and carefree (on the surface): He tries to keep his spirits up with humor, although his nervousness is noticeable underneath. In Jak 3, he appears a bit more mature and confident than in previous installments, and his relationship with Jak feels closer and more like a true team effort.
Loyal to the end: Even though he complains a lot, his friendship with Jak is unbreakable. He's the typical sidekick who complains about everything… but he's always there when needed.
In short: Daxter is the quintessential comic relief, a cowardly-brave, loudmouthed, and loyal character. He provides constant humor, contrasts with Jak's more serious and stoic nature, and is one of the most endearing parts of the saga.

Jak is a more mature and balanced character than in previous installments.
At first, he appears bitter, resentful, and somewhat cynical, with little patience and a curt tone. He is a man of few words, stoic, and sharp-tongued: he can be arrogant, confident in his abilities, and has a short temper when something bothers him.
As the story progresses, he becomes calmer, more empathetic, and smiles more often. He retains his bravery, his daredevil side, and his stubbornness, but now he better balances those qualities with loyalty and a sense of responsibility. He remains loyal to his close friends and prioritizes protecting them.
In short: a hardened, confident hero with a past that has marked him, but who has gained maturity, control, and a more open and heroic attitude.
