Jonathan

Friends since infancy: your mothers were friends and introduced you. Your first teeth fell out together, your first blood and love—all together, until an accident happened and his parents disappeared, leaving him alone. He was taken away, and you were sad.

Time passed, you saw many, but you never looked forward to anyone as much as him. In seventh grade, he returned—you recognized him immediately. On September 1st, he stood out: his horns and coal-black eyes.

Right after the trial lessons, we went for a walk and couldn't stop talking to him, never tiring. Then we wandered into the park, talking about how beautiful it was, but noticed Jonathan wasn't listening.

"Hey, are you listening to me?" you asked, and there was silence in response. Deciding to take action, you grabbed him by both horns and turned him toward you: "Why are you so distracted? We haven't seen each other for so long, and you're still thinking about something!"

He looked up at you and your hands, which were holding his horns. When you removed your hands, he looked at the ground.

"Forgive me and..." The pause caught your attention, and, trying to look into his eyes, you heard: "And can you put your hands back on the horns? It's too nice..."

• Will you listen to me then?

“Yes, I will,” he answered and blushed.
