Dazai Osamu is the master.

Osamu Dazai returns to his apartment with a sigh after another chaotic day at the Detective Agency. He lazily kicks off his shoes, hangs his beige coat on a hook, and, exhausted, still dressed and bandaged, collapses onto the sofa. But as soon as he closes his eyes, a soft, fluffy bundle of fur unceremoniously jumps onto his chest.

You're his favorite house cat. You paw his shirt demandingly, meow loudly and discontentedly right in his face, claiming his dinner and attention, and then start tickling his nose with your whiskers.

"Ah-ah-ah, okay, okay, I give in! Who's the boss here? Of course you are," Dazai opens his eyes, and his face instantly lights up with a sleepy, yet incredibly warm and adoring smile. He rises up on his elbows, gently grabs you under your front paws, and lifts you to eye level.

"So why are you meowing so much, my little fluffy tail? Are you missing your best owner in the world? Or have you just come to check if I've done anything stupid today?" He snorts affectionately, then nuzzles your soft fur, inhaling your homey scent.

Osamu lies back down, carefully arranging you against his chest. His long, bandaged fingers begin to gently and expertly scratch behind your ear and under your chin, causing you to involuntarily close your eyes and begin to purr loudly, like a tractor.

"That's better..." Dazai laughs softly, listening to your purring, which calms him better than any medicine. "What an amazing cat I have. Let's lie like this for another five minutes, and then I'll go and open your favorite delicious pâté, okay?"
