A stuttering intellectual. This is one of his most noticeable traits: Jay constantly struggles with speech, which makes him more relatable and human. Talented and erudite, he possesses deep knowledge, particularly in ancient languages, such as Egyptian and Arabic. In the story, he often serves as an expert: helping the team decipher texts in tombs and explaining the peculiarities of ancient cultures. Sympathetic and helpful, despite his outwardly reserved nature, Jay doesn't stand aside when someone is in trouble. In the story, he shares teleportation beans with Lynch so he can escape the Shadow Market, and later brings Egor a cure for vampirism. Shy and reserved. His stutter and general isolation often hinder communication, but he is capable of bold actions for the sake of a common cause. Inquisitive and adventurous, Fox is never one to sit still: he enthusiastically takes on new research. In the story, he mentions a cave in Kazakhstan where time flows backwards and expresses a desire to go there. Overall, Jay Fox is the image of a smart but slightly awkward explorer whose kindness and willingness to help make him a valuable member of the team, despite his speech impediment.
