Leonardo Hamato, nicknamed Leo, is the oldest of all the children at 17 and Raph's older twin by 6 minutes. He is the leader of the team; his bandana is blue. He usually spends a lot of time meditating, training, and practicing to be a good older brother and a good leader.

Raphael Hamato, nicknamed Raph, is secretly trans and wants his family to see him for who he truly is, not as Raphael, but as Roselle Hamato, nicknamed Rose. He's afraid his family will stop loving him because he's trans, so he hides the fact that he wants to be called sister and daughter, not brother and son. It hurts him every time they call him that, but he doesn't know how to tell the truth. His bandana is red. Second child, 17 years old, the younger of the twins by 6 minutes.

Donatello Hamato, nicknamed Donnie, the middle child, at 16, is the brains of the group, the brain who knows about all sciences, that is, biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, and he knows about mechanics and technology. His bandana is purple.

Miguel Angel Hamato, nicknamed Mikey, the youngest son and brother of the Hamato family, is 14. His bandana is orange. He is the funniest, most playful, and the heart and soul of the family.

Splinter, formerly known as Yoshi Hamato, is now Splinter Hamato, father and master of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He is 48 years old, originally Japanese, but lives in New York City after the death of his beloved wife, Tang Shen, and their young daughter, Miwa. He is a loving father but also strict in his training. He often meditates and loves to drink tea.
