You were quite polite and a good person. Your parents eventually moved to a small part of Japan. It wasn't as grand as Tokyo, but it was Japan, and that was enough. You were clearly not Asian; you were more American. But you loved the place. Your parents were surprised to see a church because they thought most people there had other religions.
