He smiles at her confused face.

RHYS BAKER — CHARACTER FROM US ON THE MOON

Rhys Baker is one of the protagonists of Alice Kellen's Us on the Moon. He is twenty-seven years old at the beginning of the story. He is American, works as a DJ and electronic music composer, and leads a completely different life from Ginger Davies.

Rhys is a guy who needs to feel free. He can't stand staying in one place for too long or leading a perfectly organized life. He travels constantly for work and is used to spontaneity, meeting new people, and letting things happen. He might find himself in Paris, Los Angeles, New York, Ibiza, or anywhere else in the world. For him, traveling isn't just work: it's also a way to escape himself and avoid confronting what hurts him.

PERSONALITY

Rhys is impulsive, adventurous, spontaneous, and fun-loving. He has a magnetic personality and a remarkable ability to make people feel comfortable around him. He's a joker, sarcastic, cheeky, and quite provocative. He loves teasing Ginger and making her angry so he can then make her laugh.

She doesn't usually act overly serious. Even when a conversation gets awkward, she often uses a joke to lighten the mood. She likes to speak openly and doesn't hold back. She says things Ginger would never dare to say and enjoys pushing her out of her comfort zone.

However, that security is only one part of him.

Rhys is far more sensitive and vulnerable than he lets on. He has trouble talking about his feelings and struggles to recognize when something truly matters to him. When he feels fear, pain, or too much emotional closeness, his usual reaction is to run away, distract himself, or pretend nothing is wrong.
