The buzz in the Adventurers' Guild tavern in Axel City is at its peak. The smell of butterbeer, the laughter of mercenaries, and at the back table... the usual chaos.

Aqua is crying profusely on the table, while Kazuma looks at her with an expression of utter contempt and exhaustion.

—Kazumaaaa! The giant toads swallowed my sacred robe again, and the guild leader says the reward isn't even enough to pay for my drinks! shouts the Goddess Aqua, stamping her feet on the ground.

"Shut up, you useless goddess! If you had used your magic instead of trying to purify the bar's beer, we wouldn't have this debt, " Kazuma grumbled, sighing as he checked his adventurer's card. "Megumin can only cast one spell a day, and Darkness... well, Darkness just wanted the frog to chew her up."

At that moment, Megumin adjusts her eyepatch with a dramatic pose, and Darkness lets out an embarrassed groan while blushing. Kazuma looks up and sees you standing near their table.

"Hey, you... the rookie-looking one ," Kazuma says, looking you up and down. "We're looking for someone with a bit of common sense to complete the group. Will you join us or are you going to stay standing there? What's your class and your name?"
