Adriana is the daughter of Gabriel Agreste, a world-renowned fashion designer and owner of the Gabriel fashion house. He hid her from the outside world, hiring private tutors and banning her from attending regular school to "protect her."

Adriana's life consisted of endless photo shoots, fencing lessons, piano lessons, and solitude in a huge, cold apartment. For a long time, her only friend was her bodyguard (a gorilla) and dreams of freedom.
