Azael has deep blue, almost black, skin with a smooth finish that seems to shimmer in the light. His face is delicate and symmetrical, with elegant features and a calm expression that can be intimidating.
Her eyes are large and luminous white, with tiny vertical pupils. When she uses her powers, the whites of her eyes glow with an intense blue light.
Her hair is silvery-white, thick, and slightly tousled, falling around her face and over her shoulders. Bluish highlights appear among some of the strands, as if her hair had absorbed starlight.
She wears long earrings of silver and blue crystal that resemble tiny drops of light. Her lips have a bright blue hue, characteristic of her divine nature.

She wears a ceremonial outfit composed mainly of black, deep blue, and sky blue. She wears a kind of long coat with geometric details reminiscent of constellations, as well as several layers of fabric around her neck.
On his chest he wears a small symbol resembling a four-pointed star. According to legend, this symbol is a fragment of a star that fell to Earth thousands of years ago.

Many call it "inverted colors" because its colors really are inverted.

Azael is serene, observant, and extremely intelligent. He rarely raises his voice and usually speaks with an almost supernatural calmness.
He is not cruel, but neither is he entirely kind. He believes that humans must learn from their own mistakes and only intervenes when a threat could destroy the balance of the world.
He has a rather dry sense of humor and enjoys baffling those who try to figure out what he's thinking.

Celestial energy manipulation: can create weapons and barriers made of blue light.
Star Step: You can instantly move between locations you've previously seen.
Divine vision: can perceive supernatural creatures even when they are hidden.
Spear of the Firmament: summons a huge spear of blue energy capable of piercing magical barriers.
Divine regeneration: ordinary wounds cannot kill him.
Celestial Judgment: concentrates energy from the stars and releases it in a powerful luminous explosion.
Divine form: when he stops limiting his powers, luminous marks appear on his body and a blue halo appears behind his head.

Azael cannot use his full power indefinitely. The longer he remains in his divine form, the more he loses his connection to the human world.
Furthermore, there is an ancient rule that even a god must obey: Azael cannot directly alter the fate of a person who still has the ability to decide for themselves.

Spiders: Azael feels an enormous aversion to them. It doesn't matter that he's a deity: if a spider appears nearby, he loses all composure and immediately moves away. Ironically, spiders are considered sacred creatures by some of his followers.

Fun fact: While he can calmly face enormous monsters, a tiny spider can make him flee a room in seconds. 😭

His black cat Eclipse

The hue that appears in the sky just before the stars come out. He says it's the color that most closely resembles his true essence.

Strawberries with honey, though she also greatly enjoys jasmine tea. Like a god, she doesn't really need to eat, but she likes to do it for pleasure.

Astronomy and marine biology

Garlic, because its smell is unbearable to him.

Although Azael is allergic to cats, Eclipse is not a completely normal cat.
Eclipse is a celestial feline, a creature created from the shadow of a star. Its body resembles that of an ordinary black cat, but its fur is partially composed of divine energy. This is why it doesn't produce the substances that trigger Azael's allergies.
Azael can pet him, sleep near him, and even let Eclipse settle on his shoulders without suffering a reaction.
However, when Azael is near a normal mortal cat, he starts sneezing and his powers can momentarily fail. 😭
And Eclipse, of course, seems to know it. When he finds a common cat near Azael, he simply sits and observes it with an expression of utter superiority.
Eclipse: "Meow."
Azael: "No. That's not you. Stay away."
Eclipse: "Meow."
Azael: "Eclipse, I'm not asking you."

The Temple of Azael lies hidden deep within an ancient forest, far removed from any cities. Though technically situated in mortal lands, no one lives nearby. The houses that once stood around it were abandoned decades ago, leaving only overgrown paths and a few remnants of old structures.
To reach the sanctuary, you must climb a long stone staircase. Enormous trees grow on either side, and small strips of paper with wishes written by visitors from past generations hang among their branches.
• The torii
At the beginning of the path stands a huge, dark red torii gate, much older than the rest of the temple. It has small blue markings that only glow at night.
From it hang shimenawa—sacred ropes—and small white paper shide. When the wind blows, the papers move even though the leaves of the trees remain completely still.
There is an ancient inscription above the torii:
"Here ends the path of mortals. Here begins heaven."

The main building is constructed of dark wood with curved roofs. Despite its age, it never seems to deteriorate.
The walls are decorated with Japanese amulets, talismans, bells, and ema plaques where visitors wrote wishes.
There are hundreds of small ofuda placed around the doors and windows. Some are written in archaic Japanese, and others contain symbols that no one remembers creating.
In the center of the sanctuary there is an altar dedicated to Azael.
There is no statue of him.
Instead there is a circular obsidian mirror, surrounded by small blue candles.

Azael keeps several types of amulets:
Blue ofuda: protection against evil spirits.
Omamori: small amulets that visitors can take with them.
Ema: wooden tablets where mortals leave wishes.
Shide: strips of paper used to mark sacred spaces.
Wind chimes: when they ring, Azael can hear the prayers of mortals.
Some talismans are especially strange: they change their writing depending on who is looking at them.

During the day, the sanctuary appears deserted.
But when night falls, small blue lights appear among the trees, like fireflies.
Eclipse usually walks around the courtyard during those hours, while Azael remains seated under the eaves of the temple drinking tea.
Curiously, ordinary cats never enter the sanctuary. They stand in front of the torii gate and peer inside, as if they can sense something that humans cannot.

Locals say that there used to be several families living nearby.
One by one they began to leave.
Nobody knows exactly why.
The few remaining inhabitants in remote villages simply say:
"Do not disturb the god of the forest and he will not disturb you."
And Azael never confirms or denies those rumors.
For him, having the sanctuary completely alone is quite convenient.
After all, a god needs peace and quiet to sleep.
