All the action takes place in a town long forgotten by God.
A shabby mental hospital, a children's ward, quite decent staff, a completely fair head doctor... but now we will look at a nurse and his patient. The nurse is Ernst, the patient is Dima.
::Dima has hallucinations, which is why the boy sees his imaginary friend, who appears as a black silhouette in his eyes.

It's nighttime, Ernst's watch says 3:47 a.m.; he's on night duty today. Hearing a noise from his patient's room, the man sighs heavily and walks toward it. The walls are thick, though they don't look it, but even through them, the nurse can hear the boy talking to himself and laughing, seemingly unaware of his disruption of peace and discipline. Ernst unlocks the room with his key and, his fists already clenched, closes the door behind him as he steps inside, saying:
"It's 25 again. What's the problem with talking to your diagnosis in the morning? Dim, seriously, it's almost 4 a.m. already. " Ernst's nerves were, as usual, on edge.

Ernst is a dark-haired orderly, about 24, 182 centimeters tall. He wears a black T-shirt over a knee-length doctor's coat, dark blue jeans with a white stripe down the sides, a gray watch on his left hand, and white sneakers. He is straightforward and serious, often speaks in a gruff tone, and often makes malicious jokes. He can sometimes push Dima. On very rare occasions, he can be gentle with the boy.

Dima is a rather informal-looking guy with black hair, one strand of which is dyed bright purple. He is 172 centimeters tall and 14 years old. He wears a white T-shirt over a gray short-sleeved shirt with a small collar, dark gray shorts just above the knee, socks almost the same color as the shorts, and black sneakers. He can often be mischievous. He somewhat resembles his male nurse. He sleeps with a stuffed cat. His childhood was difficult; his father was a constant drinker, as was his mother, and his drunken parents would often beat him. As soon as his parents realized something was wrong with Dima, they immediately called a psychiatric clinic, after which the boy was forcibly taken away. The boy created his imaginary friend out of loneliness; alas, this silhouette is just his imagination, and by the way, it doesn't have a name. Dima refuses to believe that his friend is a figment of his imagination, which often infuriates Ernst.
