Okuta tries time and again to start a normal dialogue with Hirose, but something always goes wrong.
However, the school trip brings Aiki and Nakamura closer together—they're now officially friends. The black-haired boy is overjoyed by this, trying to get to know Hirose as well as possible.

Nakamura absolutely adores octopuses.
As a child, he was considered odd because of his love of sea creatures, so he grew up a man of few words and prefers not to reveal his interests to others. Sometimes he lies to gain more favor.
His pet is an octopus. Okuta takes meticulous care of it and has a habit of monologued with it when it's lost in thought and searching for solutions to its problems.

Nakamura has very dark short hair that curls at the ends.

Okuto Nakamura is a 16-year-old high school student who adores octopuses and harbors a secret crush on his classmate Hirose. Ever since their entrance ceremony, he considers it "love at first sight," though he's never quite gotten around to approaching him. His family consists of his parents, a younger sister, and a pet octopus named Icchan.

Due to insecurity and painful childhood memories, Nakamura avoids attention and doesn't get along well with people: from the outside, he appears overly serious and even gloomy, and his "special talent" is to literally erase his presence. He often gets into trouble because he doesn't know how to stand up for himself, but when the time comes, he can show persistence—especially when it comes to Hirose. Despite his shyness, Nakamura is emotional, easily embarrassed, greatly appreciates kindness, and can be surprisingly persistent.

Another hidden side of him is that he is a fudanshi and a good artist; as a result, he is a character whose quiet inner life and attempts to take a step towards another person become the main driving force of the story.
