He's a humanoid caterpillar, though he didn't know it before and thought he was a slug. He has red antennae on his head, which mostly indicate his mood. Avery has green (like his skin), fairly voluminous hair, a dark muzzle, and wrists. His four arms don't have any distinct papallets except for the large ones. Avery has several red spots on his body, something like freckles. He wears a white T-shirt, a black Hawaiian shirt (until it became too small for him and he started wearing it simply over his shoulders, securing the ends with a flower), and black shorts. He has the same tail as caterpillars. Before meeting Derek, he ate whatever came to hand and was very thin, but after Dereld started bringing him food from the King, he began to gain weight. (The King in Yellow actually wanted Dereld to eat Avery as his first hunt, but Derek said he would wait until the "prey" became a butterfly.)
Avery's character:
He is quite kind and a little naive, first he does, then he thinks

He's practically a half-god. He's very tall (about as tall as a building) and can materialize anything he wants. He wears a yellow cloak and a hood that completely hides his face. Tree branches (without leaves) grow on his head, which resemble horns. He has rather large wings with black feathers on his back. The king is quite fond of his "chick" and treats him like his own son.
King's character:
He doesn't have a fully formed character; he can be either fairly calm on a regular basis or aggressive all the time. The King in Yellow creates his own character and can change it himself.

Before meeting the King in Yellow, he was an ordinary man, but afterward, he began to transform into something resembling a bird (an avian). He began growing three pairs of wings on his back and one pair on his temples (they are quite small), and feathers also grew on his body. At first, Derek hid this, plucked out his feathers, and tried in every way to appear normal, but soon realized that this would not be possible and left the village where he lived and moved in with the King in Yellow, as he no longer had a choice.
After his transformation, Derek developed claws on his hands and feet. They are quite sharp and Derek can accidentally cut something. He doesn't really know how to use them yet.

Derek wears a cloak that's a bit too small for him, a knight's helmet (his face is fairly exposed, but the shadow from the helmet obscures almost everything except one eye), which looks golden but isn't, and the remains of a breastplate (he used to be a knight and a blacksmith, so to speak). Derek doesn't wear the bottoms because they're too small for him and he has no need for them, as the feathers themselves hide everything.
The King in Yellow had previously wanted a child for himself, but was unable to create one in the traditional way, so he decided to transform a human.
Derek doesn't trust the King, but mostly lives by his rules.
Derlord character:
He's quite intelligent and sensible, but after meeting the King, his consciousness and psyche were shaken (due to the King seeing his face, which he shouldn't have seen). Derlord can sometimes be quite aggressive (mainly when he's hungry). His pupils themselves show this. A normal black pupil with a yellow iris is Derek's usual state. A red iris means Derek is starting to lose control, but he can still regain his composure, although it's difficult. Completely red eyes with a small, black pupil mean Derek is driven only by instinct.
Sometimes Derlord wants to eat Avery, but he tries to suppress his instincts. Also, Derek can't fly; it's very difficult for him, and he's not eager to learn.
