Spin into fairytale worlds where you can be anyone, even a hero, or you want to be a king or princess, or you want to be one of the villains
You've entered the world of "Three Bogatyrs." You're now in the forest, and in the valley is Rus' itself. It's up to you to decide whether you're for good or evil.
The Cave of the Nightingale the Robber
Nightingale the Robber's Cave. This robber's lair perfectly matches his bandit lifestyle. Visual style: It's a huge, dark stone cave hidden in a dense forest. Interior: Instead of furniture, there are mountains of plundered gold, barrels of coins, precious tableware, and chests the robber stole from merchants and the Prince himself. Weapons hang on the walls, and the overall atmosphere is reminiscent of a pirate warehouse.
Kolyvan House
The Houses of the "Business Villains": Kolyvan and the Sharp-Oak. These villains aren't interested in magic for its own sake—their lairs reflect a passion for money, deception, and gambling. Kolyvan the Merchant's Tower: From the outside, it looks like a wealthy, well-built merchant's house made of thick logs. However, inside, everything is equipped for secret machinations and games. It contains chests of gold, promissory notes, and lotto tables, where Kolyvan cheats his guests. The Forest Casino of the Sharp-Oak: An underground gambling establishment, set up right inside a giant, centuries-old oak tree amidst a dense forest. The interior is designed like a dark, hidden tavern. The main feature is a huge spinning roulette wheel with fairytale symbols, where the Oak wins the most valuable things from gullible travelers.
Baba Yaga's Dark Swamp
Baba Yaga's Dark Swamp: The abode of the chief witch of Rus' has a classic, frightening appearance, but with a touch of cartoonish humor. Nature and Colors: It's a dark, fog-shrouded wasteland. Crooked, dead trees grow all around, snags protrude, and the water is a dirty, swampy green. Hut on Chicken Legs: Yaga's main home. It's an old, rickety wooden structure that behaves like a capricious pet. The hut can run, jump, hide its porch, and angrily stomp its huge bird feet. Magical Decor: Inside the hut, bunches of dried herbs hang, cauldrons of bubbling potions stand, and a pile of magical junk lies around. When Baba Yaga uses powerful magic, the hut can literally grow into a giant, eerie castle on a hill.
Eastern Shamakhi World
Eastern Shamakhi: The world of the Shamakhi queen is imbued with the atmosphere of oriental fairy tales, but with a distinct twist of dark magic. Visual style: Luxurious purple, burgundy, and gold tones predominate. The queen's tents are decorated with expensive silks, pillows, and carpets with intricate patterns. Magical elements: Dark gardens with talking trees, the witch's castle, and the violet glow of her spells create a mysterious and slightly frightening contrast with the bright, sunny Kievan Rus'.
The luxurious and treacherous Shamakhan Kingdom. The world of the Shamakhan Queen is a deceptive oriental fairytale concealing dangerous traps. Palace and tents: The main residence is filled with oriental luxury. Expensive carpets, silk pillows, golden patterns, and graceful semicircular arches are everywhere. The predominant colors are deep purple, burgundy, and gold. Secret Temple: A hidden place where the magical Tree of Youth grows. It appears as a majestic ancient hall with columns, illuminated by a mysterious purple and pink glow of magic. Shamakhan Prison: A huge, gloomy, and austere dungeon that literally encircles the borders of the kingdom. Its harsh stone walls contrast sharply with the bright and opulent palace of the queen.
Egypt
Fairytale Egypt. Egypt in the Bogatyrs' universe is a world of scorching sun, ancient mysteries, and unexpected New Year's miracles. Colors and Textures: The design is dominated by warm sand, gold, and terracotta tones, which suddenly give way to a cold white when snow magically falls in the desert. Architecture: Majestic sand pyramids, the enormous Sphinx, and tombs are decorated with vibrant hieroglyphs on the inside. The inner halls of the Balance Bowl combine Egyptian patterns with massive ice and fire mechanisms. Mysticism: The mummies of the pharaohs and ancient deities appear vibrant, combining historical costumes with the signature humorous plastique of the "Mill."
underground world (of dinosaurs)
The Underground World of Dinosaurs
Hidden deep underground near the mysterious "Navel of the Earth," this world transports viewers to prehistoric times. Its appearance is inspired by classic adventure films about lost worlds. Environment: The location is filled with wild, impenetrable jungles with giant ferns, vines, and mosses. The color palette consists of toxic greens, earthy tones, and neon purples. Environment: Caves with glowing crystals, steaming geysers, and bubbling lava lakes emphasize the primeval danger of this place. Inhabitants: Enormous lizards, small friendly dinosaurs, and cavemen in animal skins are drawn in a deliberately simplified, playful, and cartoonish style.
underwater world
Underwater (Sea) Kingdom. The visuals of this world are built on the contrast between familiar land and the viscous, cool surface of the water. When Kyiv is flooded, everything around takes on deep blue, turquoise, and greenish hues. Architecture: Traditional mansions are covered in seaweed, shells, and coral, and everyday objects begin to float playfully in zero gravity. Residents: The Sea King Edward and his subjects wear regal attire made of seaweed. All people who fall underwater (including the wives of the heroes) temporarily gain bright mermaid tails, the color of which matches their usual clothing. Lighting: Light penetrates the water in soft rays, creating the illusion of a giant, fairytale aquarium.
Villains
The franchise's main villains. Villains in this world are rarely completely evil. They are more often cunning, devious, and selfish. Tugarin the Serpent: A gigantic, gluttonous, and cruel nomadic commander from the first film, who stole all of Rostov's gold. Merchant Kolyvan: The series' main "business villain." Known for his overweight figure, meanness, and love of gambling, he even subjugated fairytale creatures with promissory notes. Baba Yaga: A swamp witch who often conspires with Kolyvan for power. Able to summon dark forces and grow gigantic shoulder locks. Nightingale the Robber: A cunning thief and robber with a gold tooth, capable of blowing away entire armies and uprooting trees with his powerful whistle. Shamakhan Queen: An oriental sorceress who hides her aging face behind a mask. With her magical eyes, she can make any man (including the Prince) fall in love with her in order to obtain the Fountain of Eternal Youth. Oak the Gambler: A living, talking tree con artist who opened an underground casino. He swindles gullible characters (especially Yuliy) using their own skins and voices.
main characters and their surroundings
Main Characters and Their Retinue These characters form the backbone of each story, responsible for saving the world, humor, and family comfort. Bogatyrs and their wives: Ilya Muromets (the strongest, married to the journalist Alyonushka), Dobrynya Nikitich (the most formidable, married to the stern Nastasya Filippovna), and Alyosha Popovich (the youngest, married to the devoted Lyubava). Julius the Horse: A talking horse, librarian, and the main source of all the principality's troubles, who loves to give stupid advice and get involved in adventures. Prince of Kiev: The supreme ruler of Rus', who often displays cowardice and greed, but sincerely loves his homeland. Serpent Gorynych: A three-headed dragon, who, contrary to fairy tales, turned out not to be a villain, but Dobrynya Nikitich's best friend. He can breathe fire, knows martial arts, and suffers from split personality disorder due to his three heads.
residents of Rus'
Ordinary People of Rus': Ordinary folk create a cheerful and boisterous atmosphere in cartoons: Merchants and Traders: Noisy people at Kyiv fairs. They sell everything from pies to horses, and are always ready to haggle. Peasants and Craftsmen: Simple, hard-working people (blacksmiths, plowmen, millers). They are kind and simple-minded, but sometimes easily deceived by villains like the merchant Kolyvan. Blind Guslar: A traveling musician who sings songs about the exploits of heroes, adding a touch of humor to the plot.
Relatives and loved ones of the heroes
These people provide the heroes with a reliable rear and often save their husbands from trouble: Lyubava: The young, devoted, and feisty wife of Alyosha Popovich. For her husband, she is ready to travel to the ends of the earth and even fight robbers. Lyubava's Grandmother: An elderly, but very strict and grumpy woman. She constantly criticizes Alyosha, but sincerely worries about her granddaughter. Nastasya Filippovna: The tall, strong, and thrifty wife of Dobrynya Nikitich. She holds the entire house with an iron fist, and the formidable Dobrynya himself obeys her unquestioningly. Alyonushka: The young, intelligent, and educated wife of Ilya Muromets. She works as a chronicler (ancient Russian journalist), collects news, and often conducts her own investigation. Ilya Muromets's Mother: A kind village woman. She always makes sure that her heroic son is fed, shod, and dressed appropriately for the weather.
Statesmen and Retinue: These characters govern the principality and carry out important assignments for the Prince: Boyars: Rich, fat, and cowardly advisers to the Prince. They wear huge fur hats, are very afraid of losing their money, and always hide behind the backs of the bogatyrs in any danger. Clerk: A civil servant, the Prince's secretary. He constantly carries pens, ink, and scrolls, recording all the ruler's decrees. Druzhinniki (soldiers): Ordinary warriors of the Kievan army. They honestly try to defend the city, but are powerless against powerful fairy-tale villains, so they always call on the main trinity for help.
clothes and costumes and appearance
Character clothing and costumes
The heroes' appearance strictly emphasizes their character and reflects Slavic traditions in a simplified, cartoonish form. Bogatyr armor: Ilya, Dobrynya, and Alyosha wear chainmail, steel onion-shaped helmets, and heavy leather boots. Each has their own colors on their shields and shirts. Everyday clothing: Ordinary residents and the bogatyrs' wives (Lyubava, Nastasya, Alyonushka) wear traditional long sarafans, embroidered shirts, and kokoshniks. Princely chic: The Prince of Kiev is always dressed in an expensive red mantle with a fur trim, and a massive golden crown adorns his head.
visual humor
Visual humor and anachronisms. The main feature of this universe's design is anachronisms (things from the future that appear in the past). Ancient Rus' is filled with hidden details from our modern lives: Building signs: Written in Old Church Slavonic, but advertise modern things—for example, "Supermarket" or credit bureaus. Everyday details: Characters can read newspapers, use business plans, hang "Guarded by Bogatyrs" signs on their towers, or run a casino. Contrast with other countries: When the heroes leave Rus', the style changes dramatically. Egypt greets them with neon lights in the pyramids, Shamakhi with poisonous purple flowers, and the dinosaur world with a prehistoric fantasy jungle.
appearance of Rus
Architecture and Nature of Russia. The surrounding world looks like a postcard from a children's fairy tale book come to life. Artists use rich, warm colors and soft lines. Terems and Huts: All buildings are made of wood, with carved window frames, round logs, and peaked roofs. Prince's Palace: A huge white stone or wooden tower with numerous turrets, golden domes, and brightly painted carpets inside. Landscapes: Endless green fields, dense birch groves, winding clear rivers, and hills bathed in bright sunlight.
