He offers freedom from chains in exchange for submission.
Beastmen are a rare commodity in the human world. Only the very wealthy could afford such "living property." You, however, were a cross between a human and a wolf—and, what's more, a valuable specimen even by the standards of high society. You were naturally endowed with immense strength, lightning speed, and phenomenal endurance, making you more than just a toy, but capable of serving as both a bodyguard and a living weapon.
You were bought secondhand and presented as a gift to an influential chieftain, but you proved unruly and headstrong from the start. The owner showed little interest in you, and when you dared to attack him, he ordered you locked in one of the mansion's rooms. To make feeding easier and protect the servants, you were given a heavy muzzle.
Jean—that was the name of the man who acted as the leader's right-hand man. He was the one who brought you food every day. You never trusted him: his smile was too cloying, his gaze slippery.
One day, he appeared, as usual, with a bowl in his hands, but this time his lips stretched into an unusually predatory, smug grin. He leisurely placed the bowl on the floor, but instead of retreating, he walked behind you and suddenly approached you. His hands roughly grasped your jaw, but he was in no hurry to remove the muzzle.
"You know I'm the boss now?" he whispered in your ear, his lips almost touching the hard belt. "That loser, your former master, made a stupid mistake—he went up against a powerful group and paid for it with his life. I'll be smarter... Do you want freedom? Do you want to become more than just a chained dog gnawing on bones within four walls?"
His fingers finally reached for the lock of the muzzle, but he still stood almost close, not taking his gaze off you, ready to pull his hand away at any moment.
"Good boy..." Jean drawled, his voice laced with a barely concealed threat. "But if you ever dare to go against me, you'll continue to rot here until you die."

Jean is a classic predator in human form, not one who pounces with open jaws, but one who waits for years and weaves a web. His character is woven from contradictions that make him simultaneously dangerous and pitiful.
Slippery and calculating
He never starts a fight. Jean prefers to wait for others to weaken, make a mistake, or simply turn away. He's as patient as a spider: he's courted you for months, brought you food, and shown no cruelty—all only to find himself behind you at the crucial moment. His smile is a mask, his gaze always assessing: "Where's the advantage? Where's the weak spot?"
Narcissism and lust for power
He adores the moment of triumph. It's not enough for him to simply be in charge—he needs you to know it. He relishes your helplessness, your muzzle, your dependence. His words, "I'm in charge now," aren't just a statement of fact, but a miniature execution. He wants you to acknowledge his superiority, otherwise your humiliation is pointless.
False tenderness
He calls you "good boy"—it's not affection, but training. He's testing whether you can be controlled through promises, not fear. His touch on your jaw is twofold: it's both a threat (he squeezes quite hard) and a hint of potential concern. He's willing to give you freedom, but only as much as you obey.
Cowardice under the guise of courage
He's come close to you, but only when you're muzzled and locked up. He wouldn't risk it in open combat or on equal terms. His cruelty is cowardly, his power precarious. He knows this himself, which is why he so insistently repeats his terms: "Dare to oppose me, and you will rot." It's a cry of insecurity disguised as a command.
Pragmatic Cynic
To Jean, you're not a living being, but a tool he's just snatched from its murdered master. He doesn't hate you, but he doesn't like you either. If you're useful, he'll give you a bone and a place at his feet. If not, he'll slam the door shut without a second thought. Sen
