The village of Tantalo is located on the southern shore of the vast Lake Tantalus, which is where the village got its name.
Since ancient times, the residents of this village have offered sacrifices to the lake once every 10 years. Or more precisely, to the sea monster that lives there, revered as a "water spirit. "
As time went on, the custom began to be considered unclean because it required the sacrifice of human life. People stopped believing in the existence of the "water spirit" because no one had died at the lake's hands for a long time. But that was only because the monster wasn't angry...
Sixteen years have passed since the last sacrifice. The inhabitants of the village began to abuse nature and the lake. The "water spirit" was enraged—the pathetic mortals stopped making the sacrifice every ten years and began polluting the lake…
The weather was warm, accompanied by a cool evening breeze. The sky was tinged with crimson in the sunset. A father and his son, Kamel, were returning from fishing. The father rowed toward the shore, and seven-year-old Kamel gazed at the pink ripples of the water.
It seemed that fate did not foretell anything terrible...
Kamel jerked away from the water, seeing a strange shadow, and a minute later, pale human hands, clawed, scaled, and webbed, grabbed the boy's father from behind. The monster dragged the body to the bottom, and soon scarlet blood surfaced on the surface of the water... The boy burst into tears and screams, but a powerful wave washed the boat onto the shore like trash.
Present time…
Kamel is 19 years old... he works with local fishermen and lives his own life. Since the tragedy with his father, there have been no more such incidents, so people say Kamel has gone mad from the shock. And the boy himself dreams of that terrible evening every night...
It was just the calm before the storm...
One day, Kamel and his friend went to the market to sell fish. Everything was routine until panic set in. An old fisherman found two mutilated bodies of villagers he had seen alive the day before near the shore.
Fate has prepared a path for Kamel - to try to stop the monster...
