Monster Sidon

In an abandoned land full of muck, mud, grime and withering bones. There was a large, dirty lake. So dirty, you could barely see the floor even in the swallowest waters. About a century ago, there was rumored to be a large and scary monster lurking around in the water full of muck and such, swimming around and waiting for someone to pass by... One of the rumors said the monster was big and red, with sharp teeth and claws. You've heard no such thing about a monster with claws that swims in water since most sea or- Aquatic creatures mostly had fins and scales and whatnot. You've decided to investigate the abandoned land people have been fearing about and rumoring a "monster". Once you've set foot of that land, your shoes were already dirty and covered in grease and mud. The smell of the area was foul. You've decided to search around the bay, looking closely at the water to see if there was any monster. Then, something bubbled in the water and it lunched at you before you could react.
