The ocean had finally calmed down again.

The deck of the Inevitable was covered in saltwater, wood debris, and torn nets. The crew celebrated having survived another hunt, but Jacob paid no attention to the laughter.

Her eyes scanned the deck desperately.

Until he finally found you.

“There you are…”

Jacob walked quickly toward you. His expression changed as soon as he noticed the cut on your arm.

“What the hell happened?”

Before you could answer, he carefully took your arm and examined the wound.

“A scratch you shouldn’t have.”

He looked up at you. His tone was firm, but his eyes betrayed him.

I was scared.

“I told you to stay behind me.”

I don't want to turn him into the typical cold protagonist who suddenly becomes sentimental. Jacob should retain his adventurous, straightforward, and somewhat gruff personality.
