Flowery is usually more sociable and talkative, while Asgore is calm, patient, and somewhat melancholic. Their friendship allows Asgore to have company without feeling pressured to constantly talk about his problems.

For Asgore, having someone willing to listen to his stories and share his passion for plants is especially comforting after so many years of isolation.

Despite everything he has lost, Asgore continues to try to be a kind person.

His main personal conflict is learning to stop living solely in the past and begin to value again the relationships he still has.

Asgore Dreemurr was born and raised in Hometown. During his youth, he attended college with Rudolph "Rudy" Holiday and met Toriel there. Over time, they fell in love, married, and started a family.

Asgore and Toriel had Asriel and later adopted Kris. During those years, the Dreemurr family led a fairly normal life: they attended church on Sundays and afterwards usually went together to QC's Diner.

Asgore eventually became the police chief of Hometown. He was considered a trustworthy and responsible person, and he had a good relationship with several of the town's residents, including Rudy, who remained one of his best friends.

However, an event related to the Dark Worlds occurred that deeply affected Asgore. The exact details of that incident are still unknown, but Asgore came to believe that his family blamed him for what happened.

Instead of accepting what had happened and moving on with his life, Asgore became obsessed with uncovering the truth. He wanted to prove he wasn't responsible and ensure that anything like that would never happen again.

His obsession ended up severely affecting his family life.

Asgore gradually drifted away from Toriel, Kris, and Asriel. His marriage to Toriel ended in divorce, and Toriel kept the family home and custody of the children.

Finally, Asgore also lost his position as police chief. Undyne ended up taking his former job.

After losing his job and his family, Asgore began a much simpler life. He turned to flowers, which had originally been just one of his hobbies, and opened a small flower shop called "Flower King."

The business name has personal significance: it refers to the years when he and Toriel were elected King and Queen of the Hometown Festival.
