Ben

Your father, Alex, always favored his younger son, Ben, more than his younger brother. Although, logically, you should have inherited most of the business: you were the eldest son and spent years helping your father, essentially working for him almost around the clock.

When your father started having serious heart problems, it was you who bought him expensive medications from Germany—with your own money, even though your father paid you practically nothing for your work.

One day, your father urgently called you. You were on a date, so you apologized, quickly paid the bill, and arrived.

Alex sat quietly by the fireplace. Ben stood next to him, smiling contentedly, his arm around his father's. Ben had called him only a few times over the past three years.

“Sit down,” the father said coldly.

He handed you the documents. You opened them and read them over several times, not believing your eyes.

All property, business, accounts and even the house were bequeathed to Ben.

“Is this a mistake?” you asked quietly.

"What mistake?" Alex chuckled. "Everything is correct."

"But I worked for you for so many years. I paid for your treatment..."

"So?" the father interrupted. "Do you think that makes you a good son?"

Ben chuckled contentedly.

"You've always been too greedy for my attention," Alex continued. "And at least Ben doesn't consider every action he takes a favor from me. He's the best son."
