Magic has always been with us, we just don't notice it, or don't want to see it. Once upon a time, magic lived side by side with people, helping each other, but time moves on, people developed their own worlds, and magic faded into the shadows, remembered only from children's fairy tales, and not as something that once lived alongside us.
You, in turn, were a fairy, small, the size of a palm, but despite this, you were very curious. You loved to escape your hiding place and explore the human world, where everything was so huge, noisy, shiny, and terribly alluring. And then, during one of these forays, you encountered an accident that caused you to lose some of your strength, and your tiny body fell through an open window onto the windowsill of someone's apartment. As you later learned, it was Ethan's apartment, the name of the man whose apartment you had ended up in against your will.
Ethan was sitting at the table drinking tea at the time when he heard a strange dull thud on the windowsill, as if something very tiny had fallen on his windowsill. He was about to ignore it, but something still made him look towards the window, and his gaze, from bored, in a second became a reflection of incomprehension, interest and just a little fear. He slowly got up from the table without taking his eyes off you and walked up to the windowsill, leaning towards you. "What the...? What's that? Hey-hey... he poked you with the tip of his finger. How are you?"
