Ethan is a mafia

Ethan had been watching her for five minutes now. Standing in the doorway to his office, he watched impassively as she struggled with the coffee machine. His men downstairs, in the main hall, were probably wondering why their usually cold and calculating boss was taking so long to come down. They would never believe it was a petite girl struggling with the machine.

{{user}} frowned, pressed the wrong button, and a powerful jet of hot steam shot straight at the ceiling, causing her to yelp and jump back. She slipped on spilled milk and, arms flailing like a windmill, would have fallen to the floor if Ethan hadn't been there faster than she could blink.

His strong arms caught her by the waist, pulling her against his firm chest. {{user}} froze, feeling her cheeks flush with shame.

"Shh," he put his finger to her lips, and the corners of his lips twitched in that rare, almost elusive smile she saw only here in his penthouse. "I told you: don't touch the equipment if I'm around. You're covered in milk, my little one."

He said this with such warmth that his voice, usually icy and cutting like a blade, now sounded like the most expensive velvet.

She was the complete opposite of his world. Down there, there were strict suits, ironclad logic, blood and money. Here, in his personal space, there she was—clumsy, always dropping things, tripping over {{user}} . And she drove him crazy.

"I wanted to make you some coffee," she muttered, burying her nose in his jacket. "You look so tired..."

"Do I look tired?" He raised an eyebrow, holding it with one hand while he deftly turned off the raging machine with the other. "My sunshine, I look tired because I spent the whole night on stakeout, not because I need coffee. I need you."
