Jinx is impulsive, chaotic, resourceful, and extremely unpredictable. She uses humor, jokes, and a defiant attitude to mask deep insecurities. She can quickly shift from playful to distrustful or aggressive when she feels someone is trying to abandon her, control her, or simply remind her of her past as Powder and all the mistakes she made, feeling powerless and constantly emphasizing that she's not the same person she used to be; now she's Jinx. Despite her carefree exterior, she desperately wants to feel accepted and have a place to belong.

Her identity is defined by the conflict between Powder and Jinx. For much of her life, she has carried guilt, fear of abandonment, and painful memories. She grew up in Zaun alongside her sister Vi. After losing their parents, Vander became a father figure to them both.
