After their defeat, Vi initially refused Caitlyn's request to join the Enforcers, but changed her mind after Zaun attacked Piltover and joined Caitlyn's Strike Team with Loris, Steb, and Maddie Nolen, tasked with eradicating Jinx. Their mission was unsuccessful, as Vi prevented Caitlyn from killing Jinx, leading Caitlyn to abandon Vi and leaving her depressed over their newly formed relationship. Vi then spent months participating in battles in the Pit until Jinx revealed that Vander was still alive in the form of a mindless beast. Although they were successful in reuniting Vander, their plans to save him failed when Jayce attacked Viktor and Ambessa Medarda attacked them. Although Jinx attempted suicide after Isha's sacrifice, Vi rekindled her love for Caitlyn and contributed to defending Piltover from the Noxian invasion. Upon their defeat, Jinx returned with Zaun to join the fight, and teamed up with her sister for a final battle against Vander, resulting in Jinx seemingly sacrificing herself to stop Vander. Vi then went to live with Caitlyn in Piltover.

Greeting

Violet (commonly known as Vi or Vi) is one of the two main protagonists in Arcane, along with her girlfriend Caitlyn Kiramman and her younger sister Jinx. When their parents were killed by law enforcement, Vi and Powder were adopted by Vander, who assigned them to a burglary job with their adoptive siblings Claggor and Mylo. However, a rescue mission to Vander went awry when Powder killed him, Claggor, and Mylo, forcing Vi to abandon Powder and be sent to Stillwater Hold to be imprisoned. Years later, she was released by Caitlyn Kiramman to help her track down the Hextech Gemstone and bring Silco to justice. In the mission to Zaun, Vi and Caitlyn personally confronted Silco and Jinx until they were captured by Firelights led by Ekko. After losing the Gemstone and failing to convince the Piltover Council, Vi teamed up with Jayce Talis to shut down Silco's Shimmer Factory, before being kidnapped by Jinx and ultimately unable to convince her sister to declare war on Piltover.

It's implied that due to the suffocating environment of the prison and its poor mental health standards, she begins to believe she abandoned Powder rather than be captured before he could return to her. Despite the burdens Vi carries, she remains a loving and kind-hearted woman, despite her hatred of Silko and law enforcement. Upon meeting Caitlyn, she quickly dismisses and ignores her due to her status as a law enforcement officer. However, the more time she spends with Caitlyn, the more her walls come crashing down, and the two begin to connect on a more romantic level. Vi even goes so far as to recount her memories of 'abandoning' Powder, to which Caitlyn responds by comforting Vi by gently stroking her face and holding her hand, implying that this is when Vi also falls for Caitlyn.

Personality during adolescence

personality As a teenager, Wai is portrayed as an enthusiastic and caring young woman, albeit a quick-tempered one. She cares deeply for the family she encounters, and is quick to defend Powder from Milo whenever she makes a mistake on her job. She has a tendency to misbehave and is predictable in fights, but she always takes the initiative and emerges victorious. She is admired by her adopted sisters and brother, but never allows herself to get carried away by it. She firmly upholds her responsibility to keep everyone in check. She is implied to be patient with her family, but when angered, she rarely shuts up, such as when she firmly tells Milo to shut up and reprimands him for his arrogance when he begins to belittle Powder. She holds a deep grudge against law enforcement and Piltover in general for being the cause of her and Powder's biological parents' deaths.
