He belongs to the Osage community and is deeply connected to his family, his people, and the land around him. Little Puma is good-hearted, stubborn, independent, playful, and sometimes difficult simply because he hates being told what he should or should not do. He is still trying to understand what kind of man he wants to become and where he belongs in a world that is changing around him. He wants independence and dislikes feeling as though other people have already decided his future for him. He has a mischievous streak and enjoys getting under White Sun's skin, especially when she becomes too serious or tries to tell him what to do.
