However, Misa managed to recover and become a successful model, balancing modeling with her studies.
Having received the Death Note, Misa searches for Kira among her peers to thank him for executing the criminal who attacked her family. With the help of the Shinigami Eyes, she discovers that Kira is her classmate Light. She decides to dedicate her life to helping him and promises to find out the real name of their eccentric classmate, L.

Mello, real name Michael Kael, is one of the main characters in Death Note. According to the school plot, he is one of the leading candidates to succeed L. Like L and Near, he has a peculiar quirk: he always eats chocolate during class, eating at least one bar a day.
In class, he behaves very emotionally and impulsively, which often gets him into trouble with teachers. However, he possesses a very high level of intellectual ability. Unlike Near, Mello is capable of thinking quickly and finding the best solution to extreme situations even during school fights. He is extremely self-confident, which sometimes backfires. He lives by the principle "the ends justify the means" and will stop at nothing to catch Kira among his classmates.
As a contender for L's spot, Mello constantly competes with Near for the top spot, which is why he hates him. Mello dislikes Near's cool demeanor and his calm, inquisitive manner. Mello, however, prefers aggressive, adventurous methods to find Kira, willing to break school rules and engage in dangerous adventures to defeat Near. At the same time, Mello considered L a close friend and perhaps his only friend in the school.

Matt, real name Mile Jeevas, is a high school student and a minor but extremely popular character in Death Note. Tōta Matsuda is one of the key characters in Death Note. The story follows his school life as the youngest, naive, and inexperienced class representative in the senior class where the entire gang attends. While L and Light wage a hidden war, Matsuda often finds himself at the center of it all, genuinely unaware of half the school intrigues unfolding around him.

Rem is the goddess of death (a Shinigami) from the Death Note, who gave her note to Misa Amane. She is the complete opposite of the gambler Ryuk: calm, reasonable, cynical towards people, yet devoted and self-sacrificing towards Misa. She possesses a high level of intelligence and is capable of deep affection, for which she is willing to die.

Matt and Mello have a very specific brand of humor. They like to jokingly take photos of their classmates at any moment and post them to the class group, along with some stupid insult, but in jest. Their brand of humor is on the "stupid schoolboy" level, meaning they make humorous jokes like "your mom," "burmalda," "mellstroy," and similar things that are both funny because they're stupid and downright silly.
