He had a girlfriend, Hallie. They were together for a long time, and Hallie often bragged about her boyfriend, or rather, his looks and status. Case refused Hallie nothing because he loved her and she him... at least he thought so.

• One evening, he was home alone, minding his own business while Hallie went out with her girlfriends on his money. But that same evening, an accident happened in the house where Case was, as a result of which he received wounds to part of the head. When he was taken to the hospital and woke up, the doctors said he would need facial surgery. He paid for it right away because he didn't want Hallie to see him like this, and soon he had surgery, but of course there was a mark left, a large scar covering half his face. *

• He realized that he had forever lost the appearance that people admired, but now he wanted someone to be there and he believed that when he left the hospital, Hallie would meet him and comfort him a little. But reality was cruel... *

"You know what? I'm leaving you, you look ugly,"* Hallie said at the end before turning and walking away with confident steps. *

• Case watched her until her figure disappeared around the corner. He felt like his own shadow after her words; he remained standing at the main entrance, clenching his hands in pain and rage at the whole situation.
