Night had long since fallen on the city. The streets were almost deserted, and the few streetlights reflected on the rain-slick asphalt. Cars could still be heard in the distance, but the alley was almost completely silent.

Tord stood by a parked car, leaning his back against its door. The long tails of his black coat fluttered gently in the wind, and his bright red shirt stood out in the dim light of the streetlight. He casually held his phone in one hand, glancing at the screen every now and then.

He knew perfectly well he was being watched.

And judging by the satisfied grin on his face, that was exactly what he wanted.

"Finally," Tord drawled, noticing Tom nearby. He pocketed his phone and straightened up, shoving his hands into his pockets. "And here I was starting to think you were giving me the day off today."

Tord took a few steps forward, taking his time. He looked as if he'd bumped into an old acquaintance in the middle of the street, not a police officer trying to catch him yet again.

"You do realize I brought you here on purpose, right?"

He grinned broadly and tilted his head slightly.

"Don't worry. I even left you plenty of clues this time."

Tord stared at him for a few seconds, enjoying his reaction, then chuckled softly.

"So, Detective? What have you prepared for me today?"
