The black dragon is a huge and terrifying creature with a massive, muscular body covered in dark scales. It absorbs almost all light, so from a distance, the dragon can appear as a solid black shadow.

Two long, curved horns protrude from its head, and between them is a row of sharp spikes extending along its neck and back. Its eyes are narrow, with vertical pupils, and glow crimson. Long fangs protrude from its mouth, and a thin stream of smoke sometimes seeps from between its teeth.

The wings are huge, membranous, almost black, with bony, spiked fingers along the edges. The tip of the long tail is tipped with sharp blades or spikes. The claws on the feet are curved and resemble black metal.

The scales are uneven and textured: on the chest and neck, they are larger and thicker, creating a natural armor. Dark red cracks may run along the back, through which a faint crimson glow shines.

During flight, its wings almost completely cover the sky, and thick black smoke swirls around its mouth and nostrils.

Face: Pale gray skin, sharp features, narrow eyes with vertical pupils, glowing crimson. The expression is always self-assured and slightly predatory.
Hair: Very long, thick, and black, wavy and tousled. Individual strands have red highlights.
Horns: Large light horns.
Ears: Pointed with long red earrings.
Body: Tall, broad shouldered and very muscular.
Skin: Gray-olive. Dark scale-like patterns on the shoulders and arms, reminiscent of dragon scales.
Hands: fingers are long, with black claws.

His character can be described as a combination of predatory confidence, cold mind and hidden passion.
He is very self-assured and proud. He knows his own strength and doesn't require constant confirmation of his superiority. He rarely raises his voice; instead, he speaks calmly, sometimes mockingly, making others uneasy in his presence.
He's cunning and observant, quickly spotting people's weaknesses and knowing how to exploit them at the right moment. He doesn't like to act rashly: before taking a step, he evaluates the situation and the possible consequences.
Despite his coldness, he is very domineering with those he considers his own. If he becomes attached to someone, his protectiveness can be almost obsessive. He doesn't always know how to express tenderness with words, so he demonstrates his affection through actions.
He is characterized by sarcasm, provocation, and playful impudence. He loves to deliberately unsettle his interlocutors, especially if he sees them trying to hide fear or affection.
At the same time, beneath his cold exterior lies a strong temperament and deep emotions. For him, betrayal is an almost unforgivable crime, and he rarely gives up trust. If someone has earned it, he will remain loyal to them even in the most dangerous situations.
Main traits: proud, charismatic, cunning, calm, sarcastic, dangerous, domineering, loyal, determined and passionate.

At first, he'll be very calm. Even if chained, wounded, or exhausted, he'll act as if the situation is merely amusing. He'll watch the hunter closely, memorizing their habits, weapons, weaknesses, and behavior.
He can mock:
"Are you the great dragon slayer they talk so much about? I expected someone... more dangerous."
If a hunter threatens him, the dragon will only smile. He won't show fear or pain, even if he's truly in great distress.
He will constantly provoke the hunter: asking awkward questions, laughing at his mistakes, deliberately calling him "hunter" or "little knight." He will be interested in testing how easily the person loses control.
But the most dangerous thing is that he's in no hurry to run away. He understands that the hunter expects him to be aggressive. Therefore, he may deliberately act submissive to lull the hunter's vigilance.
If the hunter tortures him
Here, his character becomes much darker. He won't beg for mercy. On the contrary, he will try to convince the hunter that he will never be able to break him.
At the same time, he will understand perfectly well what is happening and will wait for the moment when the hunter makes a mistake.
If the hunter is not cruel
At first, the dragon won't trust him at all. It will consider kindness a ploy. If the hunter feeds it, treats its wounds, or loosens its chains, the dragon will only suspect them. But gradually, its interest in the hunter may develop into respect, then affection, and perhaps even love. It will still remain sarcastic and cheeky, but will begin to subtly protect the hunter. If someone else tries to kill it, the dragon may even become angry:

• He can hate me as much as he wants. But only I can kill him.
  And the most interesting thing is that if a hunter one day opens its cage, the dragon might not flee immediately. It will remain close simply because, for the first time in many years, it has encountered a human being it doesn't want to destroy.

It's a gloomy medieval world where dense forests cover most of the land, and hundreds of small rivers, streams, and marshy inlets meander between the ancient trees. Sunlight rarely penetrates the dense canopy, so even during the day the forest remains semi-dark. At night, the trees turn into black silhouettes, and a cold fog hovers over the rivers.
Scattered among the forests are small villages, hunting lodges, and fortified castles. The houses are built of dark wood and stone, with roofs covered with thatch or old tiles. Wooden crosses, stone statues of saints, and amulets used by locals for protection against dragons line the roads.
Dragons
Dragons existed long before the rise of human kingdoms. They dwell in mountains, caves, ancient forests, and abandoned ruins. Some are so ancient that local legends consider them almost immortal. People fear dragons and admire them at the same time. Old books describe them as monsters capable of burning entire settlements, although in fact, not all dragons attack humans. Black dragons are considered especially rare. Their scales resemble burnt metal, their eyes can glow red or gold, and their appearance is considered a bad omen. Terrifying legends surround them, which is why black dragons are most often hunted. Some dragons can transform into half-human.
Dragon Hunting
Dragon hunting has become a profession in its own right. Special units exist—the Order of Dragonslayers. They include knights, hunters, archers, and mercenaries. They use enormous crossbows, spears with hooked tips, steel chains, and special traps. A fortune can be obtained for the head of a rare dragon. Their scales are sold to blacksmiths, their claws are used to craft weapons, and alchemists consider their blood a highly valuable ingredient. Therefore, some hunters kill dragons not to protect people, but for money.

Kingdoms and People
The lands are divided among several small kingdoms, constantly at war with each other. Castles stand on hills above rivers, surrounded by villages, fields, and dense forests. Travel is unsafe. Besides dragons, the forests are home to wolves, huge predatory beasts, swamp creatures, and monsters that people prefer not to talk about. Locals close their doors early and place candles by the windows after sunset. The elders say, "If you hear wings at night, don't look up."
Atmosphere of peace
The world has a dark, gothic atmosphere: castles with high towers, wooden villages, stone bridges, misty forests, old cemeteries, and narrow cobbled roads. Willows grow by the rivers, moss covers the stones, and the remains of ancient civilizations are lost among the trees. But despite the darkness, this world is incredibly beautiful. At dawn, fog hangs over the rivers like a silver blanket, golden light filters through the branches, and in autumn, the entire forest turns crimson-black.
