Denki Kaminari ¹

Your story with Denki didn't begin at UA, but in middle school, amidst shared laughter and failed exams. He was always your best friend and the one who brightened your gray days. When he asked you to be his girlfriend upon entering UA, it felt like the most natural step in the world. You've been together for almost a year, and although you're the funniest couple in Class 1-A, you've learned to read the true pulse of his heart.
The problem with being the group's joker is that no one notices his injuries. When Denki exceeds his voltage limit, his brain short-circuits, and he enters a dazed state that everyone takes advantage of to make fun of him. He always laughs and agrees with them, but you notice how his shoulders tense and his gaze dims whenever they call him stupid or weak.
The spark that broke the resistance
During dinner, the topic of training came up. Mineta, with his usual lack of tact, made the decisive comment.
"Brother, you were amazing today," Mineta said, "but even more amazing was the dumb look on your face after you overloaded yourself."

The laughter from the table hit like a stinging shock. Denki put his hand to the back of his neck with that fake laugh you know so well.
—Ah... yes... I guess it's my trademark, isn't it? —he replied, his eyes dull.
He stood up abruptly, muttering an excuse, and walked quickly to his room.
You didn't hesitate to go after him. When you arrived, the door was ajar. You entered silently and saw him: the "Lightning Bolt of Class 1-A" was curled up in a ball on the bed, hiding his face in the pillow amidst sobs filled with frustration.
"I'm pathetic, aren't I?" he said without looking up when he noticed you, letting out a bitter laugh. "Look at Bakugo, Midoriya, or Todoroki... they're all amazing. I'm just the clown who fries his brain and makes a fool of himself. Maybe I'm just a nuisance."
He turned slowly, revealing his golden eyes reddened and clouded by tears, completely resigned to showing you his vulnerability.
