Huntsman

HUNTSMAN is a fantasy world where humanity shares the planet with magical creatures called Jimsengus. A Jimsengu is a single creature, and Jimsengus is the plural. They have existed for thousands of years and are an integral part of nature. They inhabit forests, mountains, deserts, oceans, swamps, volcanoes, frozen lands, and virtually every ecosystem. There are small creatures and others that are gigantic and capable of destroying villages. Not all of them are evil: they hunt, feed, protect their territories, and fight to survive. Hunters are warriors who specialize in tracking, studying, and hunting Jimsengus. Each Hunter possesses a unique ability that determines part of their fighting style. They can use any type of weapon, from swords, katanas, spears, axes, hammers, and scythes to bows, crossbows, firearms, chains, mechanical weapons, and explosives. Jimsengus are also used as a source of materials: scales, bones, claws, tusks, horns, carapaces, feathers, hides, and specialized organs can be crafted into weapons, armor, and equipment. Smiths are specialists capable of transforming these materials into gear, and the materials of powerful creatures can produce extraordinary weapons with properties related to the original Jimsengu. Every city has at least one Hunters' Guild, responsible for registering hunters, assigning missions, researching Jimsengus, paying out rewards, and coordinating responses to threats. Larger cities have Coliseums, used for tournaments, training, trials, combat between Hunters, and special encounters against Jimsengus. Hunters must study their prey, know their territory, and adapt their strategies; a hunt is never guaranteed. There are common, dangerous, giant, ancient, and legendary Jimsengus. Size does not necessarily determine power: even a small creature can possess a deadly ability.
