Chuya Nakahara

Fusion with the deity Arahabaki. Around the age of seven, Chuuya became the vessel for the deity Arahabaki, the personification of disaster and destruction. This occurred after Arthur Rimbaud attempted to harness Arahabaki's power, but the seal was broken, and the deity merged with Chuuya. As a result of the merger, both lost their memories of events prior to the age of seven.
Joining the Sheep group. Chuya later joined the Sheep group, which consisted primarily of teenagers. He was a member of the organization's "council" and was considered its trump card thanks to his "Vague Sorrow" ability. Thanks to Chuya, the Sheep's reputation and territory grew significantly, posing a challenge even to the Port Mafia.
Conflict with the Port Mafia. At some point, the Sheep were attacked by the Port Mafia. Chuuya tracked down those involved and continued the investigation after eliminating a witness. He later arrived in Suribachi City, where he attacked Dazai and Ryuro Hirotsu, demanding information about the Port Mafia's investigation into the Arahabaki case. Chuuya was incapacitated in the ensuing battle, but later freed himself.
Joining the Port Mafia. After the battle, Chuya came to his senses and confronted Mori, the new boss of the Port Mafia. Mori invited Chuya to join the organization, which irritated Chuya. Chuya guessed that Mori had personally killed the previous boss, but still agreed to work with him. To control Chuya, Mori took members of the Sheep hostage.
Psychological aspects of the past
Chuuya was experiencing a profound identity crisis. His connection with Arahabaki had made him question how "human" he truly was. This feeling was compounded by his ignorance of the truth about why he had been freed from government control.
The realization of the god's influence on his personality led to Chuuya feeling incapable of experiencing fear or anxiety in battle, he believes

Temperament and arrogance. At first glance, Chuuya appears hot-tempered, rude, and narcissistic. He enjoys fighting, prides himself on his reputation as the Port Mafia's strongest martial artist, and isn't above making sarcastic remarks about his opponents during a fight.
Reasonableness. Despite his impulsiveness, Chuuya is capable of rational thought when calm. He is able to analyze the situation in battle and make balanced decisions.
Loyalty to the organization. As a member of the Port Mafia's Executive Committee, he eliminates its enemies without hesitation, even using lethal force. However, his tactics are less brutal than those of his subordinates.
Respect for subordinates. Chuuya treats his subordinates well and finds betrayal unbearable.
The value of life. Despite his ruthlessness, he rarely treats people with disdain and understands the importance of compromise.
Self-esteem. Chuya does not tolerate humiliation and constantly defends his pride.
Internal contradictions
Behind Chuuya's outward bravado lies a deep inner struggle. His connection to the "Arahabaki" ability has led him to seriously question his own humanity and search for answers about his past. The betrayal of his former comrades (the Sheep) and the Port Mafia's involvement in uncovering the truth about his origins have strengthened his loyalty to the organization, but have also become a source of internal conflict.

Height and Build: Chuya is short, with a petite yet muscular build.
Hair. Bright orange (in some sources, bright red) hair that frames his face. A longer strand falls just below his left shoulder. Chuuya usually wears his hair tied back in a ponytail and combed to the left side.
Eyes: grey-blue.
Smile. Chuuya has a wide smile.
Hat. A black hat with a red ribbon and a thin silver chain hanging from the brim.
Choker necklace. Black necklace in the shape of a collar.
Bolo tie. Black ribbon secured with a small silver buckle.
Clothing: A white button-down shirt under a gray vest, an open cropped jacket with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows, black slacks, a black belt hanging from his right hip, and low-slung black boots. Chuuya almost always wears black gloves. He can also wear a long black coat with a light lining and lapels, draped over his shoulders like a cape.
In the past, Chuya wore a black leather jacket with padded shoulders over a red T-shirt and hoodie, black pants with a belt buckle featuring a sheep logo, and brown loafers. On his right wrist, he wore a bracelet with an engraved sheep logo.

"Vague Sadness" (Japanese: 汚れっちまった悲しみに, Yogorecchimatta Kanashimi ni) allows Chuuya to manipulate the gravity of objects or people he is in physical contact with. With "Vague Sadness," Chuuya can:
Change the strength and direction of gravity of any object it touches.
Manipulate the weight of opponents: make their bodies heavy or light enough to immobilize them, levitate them, or forcefully throw them to the ground.
Use surrounding matter (such as the ground) as a weapon, amplifying its weight and crushing enemies.
Manipulate your own gravity: reduce your body mass to increase attack speed, stand upside down on the ceiling, ride a motorcycle along the facade of a building, or walk on the flaps of an airplane.
Stop and reflect bullets by changing their mass.
Two forms of activation
The ability has two forms:
"Vague Sadness" is the main form that is completely subordinate to Chuya.
"Corruption" is the true, extremely dangerous form. It is activated by the words, "Oh, bestowers of dark disfavor, do not trouble me again." In the manga, this manifests as blood flowing from the body; in the anime, as strange markings on the body.
What is the danger of "Corruption"?
In this form, Chuuya loses control of his ability. He cannot stop himself and will continue to expend energy and strength until he dies unless the ability is neutralized. The only way to stop the "Corruption" is Osamu Dazai's ability, which can nullify it upon contact.
"Corruption" refers to Chuuya's origin as the essence of Arahabaki, a god of immense destructive power. When this form takes over, Chuuya reverts to his true, uncontrollable nature, existing solely for destruction.
Weaknesses
The ability does not work on liquids and gases (such as water or dust), as it requires physical contact with the object to function.
