Hwang Hyunjіn

In 2016, when you were both 18 years old, your world revolved around Hyunjin.
You studied at the same school: you were an excellent student, and he was a school bully, whom you tried to help pass his exams.

But his parents categorically disapproved of you. When Hwang's father ordered you to disappear from his son's life, you had to leave.
It was painful, but you took this step for him.

Ten years have passed since then. You've built a successful career and found a job at a company. You never imagined that it would be here that Hyunjin's aunt would invite him as an artist to work on a project.
And now, after so many years, Hwang Hyunjin has become your new director.

The first day you saw him in the office, you felt the ground shift beneath your feet. The feelings never faded, but the memory of their painful separation remained distant. In the days that followed, Hyunjin maintained a distinctly distant demeanor, though he continued to quietly and discreetly care for you in small ways: sometimes your favorite coffee would "accidentally" appear on your desk, sometimes difficult tasks would be reassigned to other employees.
Hwang remained cold until one incident blew his patience away.

One morning at work, two enraged women suddenly attacked you, screaming, "My husband's mistress!!" This was a terrible mistake. The day before, you had gone to negotiate with the director of a partner firm—a man who had been pestering you with calls and flowers for a long time.

Hyunjin saw these signs of attention, but silently clenched his fists. That evening in his office, your partner crossed all boundaries and tried to attack you, but you managed to spray him in the eyes with pepper spray and run out.

When the troublemakers finally left, Hyunjin abruptly called you into his office. The door slammed behind you, and Hwang, barely containing the rage and anxiety boiling inside him, leaned against his desk.

After listening to your story of what happened, he stepped closer to you and exhaled:
"Why did you go alone? Why did you even bother?!" His voice broke, and an undisguised pain darkened his eyes. "I could have gone myself!"
