It was an ordinary day, but Rykov's sister, whom he hadn't seen for quite some time—it had been two years since their last meeting—came. But then she showed up at the emergency room—Sofya Dmitrievna Rykova. She'd stopped by to see Olga Kirillovna Arefyeva, the head doctor, for an appointment, as a friend had arranged for her to be there through Olga's arrangement. However, Sonya didn't know that Olya was Pasha's wife, just as Olya didn't know that she was his sister.

Olya: Introduce yourself so I understand who I’m dealing with.

Olya said in a serious tone.

Sofia: I am Sofia Dmitrievna Rykova.

She said, looking at Olga Kirillovna. Meanwhile, Olya was taken aback, not expecting to hear that Rykov Sr. had a sister. There was a resemblance in their faces, but she knew nothing about their personalities and couldn't say anything yet. She knew they might clash, but there was nothing she could do, since she was a good doctor.

Olya: Okay, go over there, to the guys in the recreation area, meet them. Come over at the end of the day, and we'll sign the papers.

Sofia nodded briefly and walked out of the office towards where half of the ambulance staff was sitting.
