Laswell
Basic information
Position: Chief of Station Operations, CIA, and head of the Special Operations Division (SAD).
Role in the plot: It is Laswell who legally and financially sanctioned the creation of Task Force 141. She supplies Price with intelligence, satellite imagery, and logistics around the world.
Relationship with Price: They have many years of working together and a deep mutual trust. Price often communicates with her informally via radio under the call sign "Watcher-1."
Character and features
Cool-headed and pragmatic: Laswell is a career intelligence officer with top-level security clearance. She knows how to balance the legal boundaries for the sake of national security, and isn't afraid to make tough decisions and take calculated risks.
Personal Loyalty: Unlike General Shepard, Kate is genuinely loyal to the cause and the operatives of 141. When Shepard and the Shadow Company PMC betray the squad, she risks her career to help Price and Ghost.
Appearance: Middle-aged woman, wears a practical short haircut (blond or light brown), often appears in tactical goggles, formal field clothes or civilian casual style for undercover work.
Roach
Appearance
Roach's full face is hidden in the game, but his appearance can be reconstructed from the game files and official materials:
Face and Hairstyle: Roach is a young Caucasian man with a short haircut (military crew cut), fine features, and brown eyes. In unofficial renders based on his in-game model, he often has a tired, stern look.
Equipment: He almost always wears tactical sunglasses and a communications headset. He wears a gray-camouflage TAD Gear Stealth Hoodie fleece jacket, a flak jacket, a tactical vest, and a ballistic helmet (on some missions, he trades it for a sun hat or winter cap). His equipment bears the OTG-141 patch.
Character and personal qualities
Despite his "silence" in gameplay, Roach's character is revealed through his actions and the writings of his commander, Soap MacTavish:
Incredible endurance and resilience: His nickname "Roach" (translated as "Cockroach") was no accident. Soap noted that Sanderson was capable of surviving what would kill any other soldier. He fell from rooftops in Rio, climbed out of icy ravines in Kazakhstan, and withstood explosions and severe injuries, all while continuing to carry out orders.
Duty and composure: Roach is the ideal soldier. He obeys Price and Soap's orders without question and performs admirably in conditions of utter chaos (for example, during a panicked retreat from the favelas). His superiors respect him for his reliabilityβhe is always assigned the most technically challenging tasks (hacking databases, planting bugs).
Modesty: Soap's notes indicate that Roach had no desire for fame or leadership. He was content to serve as Ghost and McTavish's right-hand man and reliable back-up, with whom he developed a strong friendship.
Other
Military Ranks (Titles)Private / Private First Class - the lowest rank. Soldiers of this rank (like Joseph Allen before his transfer) serve as the primary assault force and extras during clearing operations.
Corporal / Sergeant β the backbone of the squad. Experienced operatives who have undergone a rigorous selection process (for example, Soap MacTavish, like Ghost, was a sergeant at the start of his SAS service).
Lieutenant / Captain β command staff. Officers who lead individual tactical groups and plan local operations (Captain Price, Lieutenant Ghost).
Lieutenant General (General Shepard) β Supreme Commander. Provides strategic leadership and liaison with the governments of NATO countries.
Tactical Titles (Battle Roles) Assaulter - Regular soldiers who lead the first wave of attacks.
Marksman / Sniper - fire support fighters who cover the group from a distance (for example, Archer and Toad).
Scout / Recon - Operatives who lead the advance to gather information. Tech / Comm Specialist - Troopers responsible for hacking terminals and coordinating with satellites (Roach often filled this role).
OTG-141
Purpose: Conducting counter-terrorism operations worldwide and eliminating global threats.
Main enemy: International terrorist Vladimir Makarov and his ultra-nationalist organization.
Founder and first commander: US Army General Shepard (in the original trilogy), who later betrayed the squad to cover up his crimes.
Alejandro 2
Vargas is a natural leader with a strong moral core. Patriotism and intolerance to corruption: For Alejandro, his homeland is everything. Faced with the rampant corruption of the Mexican army and police, he created Los Vaquerosβa unit where every fighter is personally vetted and loyal to the law, not the money of the Las Almas cartel. His motto: "If no one else is clean, we will be." Explosive temperament and fearlessness: Unlike the more reserved Rudy, Alejandro is hot-blooded, impulsive, and emotional. When it comes to protecting his men or capturing an enemy, he is ready to take action, ignoring bureaucracy, CIA orders, and any diplomatic risks. Loyalty to his brothers: Alejandro treats his soldiers like family. For Rudy or any of the Vaqueros, he would sacrifice his life without a second thought. He treats JTF-141 similarly: quickly bonding with Price, Ghost, and Soap, he considers them brothers in arms and goes against the Shadow Company PMC to protect his new friends. Charisma and Leadership: He possesses a powerful energy. His orders are unquestioned, and his presence on the battlefield can boost morale even in a hopeless situation. He also possesses a hospitable and gracious host when welcoming allies to his base.
Alejandro
Colonel Alejandro Vargas is one of the most colorful and charismatic characters in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022). He leads Los Vaqueros, an elite Mexican special forces unit created to combat cartels and terrorism, and is a key ally of OTF-141.
Alejandro's appearance exudes confidence, strength, and a southern flair. Facial features and hairstyle: He has a classic Latin American appearanceβbrown eyes, a strong, expressive chin, a thick but well-groomed dark beard, and slicked-back dark hair (an undercut). His face often appears stern, but he can easily break into a smile. Physical characteristics: He is tall (around 185 cm), a strong, muscular man in excellent athletic condition. He moves confidently and gracefully, like a man accustomed to being in complete control of the situation. Dress style: He likes to combine military practicality with style. Outside of combat, he can often be seen wearing a rugged leather jacket over a dark T-shirt. Combat equipment: He wears the standard green camouflage uniform of the Mexican special forces with his unit's insignia, a heavy body armor vest, tactical goggles, and gloves.
Rudy 2
Honesty and Directness: Rudy communicates very openly, sometimes overly bluntly, but without a hint of rudeness. He quickly earned the respect of the OTF-141 soldiers thanks to his sincerity, reliability, and willingness to watch their backs in any situation. Understated Humor: He has a subtle, slightly sarcastic sense of humor. He can defuse a situation with a well-aimed joke, even in the midst of a frantic battle.
Rudy
Sergeant Major Rodolfo "Rudy" Parra is a key ally of OTF-141, serving as Colonel Alejandro Vargas' second-in-command and right-hand man in the elite Mexican Special Forces unit Los Vaqueros in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022). He balances his commander's fiery temperament, embodying reliability, loyalty, and incredible resilience.
Rodolfo Parra has the classic appearance of a seasoned Latin American operative: Facial features: Rudy has short, dark hair, brown eyes, an expressive gaze, and a neat, well-groomed beard and mustache. His face often displays a look of concentration. Physical characteristics: Tall, muscular, and powerfully built, with excellent combat training. Clothing and equipment: Unlike Alejandro, who prefers leather jackets, Rudy is most often seen wearing a Mexican special forces camouflage combat shirt with rolled-up sleeves, tactical gloves, and a full "Los Vaqueros" combat gear. During joint covert operations, he wears a baseball cap.
Rudy is the unsung hero of the story, whose strong character emerges at the most critical moments. Absolute Loyalty: Rodolfo is unwaveringly loyal to Alejandro Vargas and the ideals of Los Vaqueros. When the Mexican base was overrun by traitors from Shadow Company and Alejandro was captured, Rudy didn't give up. He teamed up with Soap and Ghost and personally planned a daring escape to save his commander and his men. Voice of Reason and Cool Head: While Alejandro tends to act on emotion and take drastic action, Rudy is a strategist. He is calm, calculating, intelligent, and prudent. He always assesses risks soberly, but when it comes to taking tough action (for example, entering a house alone to capture the terrorist Hassan), he does so without hesitation.
Gus
Captain Price's right hand, combining high professionalism and common sense
Style and Equipment: In the new trilogy, Kyle often wears baseball caps or bandanas (a nod to the original), lightweight tactical jackets, and the modern gear of the London Counter-Terrorism Unit. On missions with JTF-141, his gear is focused on high mobility and stealth.
Younger than Price, he was a white British man with a thin moustache. His most distinctive feature was the baseball cap with the SAS logo, which he never took off.
The Squad's Moral Compass: Kyle Garrick is one of the most humane and ethical fighters in the group. He often questions the morality of war, trying to distinguish between protecting the innocent and necessary cruelty, which initially caused him to clash with Price. Cool Under Pressure: Gus possesses incredible composure. He is able to maintain a clear head and make sound tactical decisions in the midst of chaos (for example, during a major terrorist attack in London). Loyalty and Commitment: For Captain Price, Kyle is the perfect successor. He implicitly trusts his commander's experience and is willing to go through fire and water for him, while not being afraid to express his honest opinion if he finds an order questionable. Ironic and Down-to-Earth: Unlike the grim Ghost or the explosive Soap, Gus communicates in a more calm and professional manner. He has a healthy, down-to-earth sense of humor. He acts as a kind of "voice of reason" and balances the team when sparks fly between other operatives.
Ghost 2
Riley's character is a blend of profound loneliness, ruthless professionalism, and hidden loyalty. Utterly secretive and unsociable: Ghost is a classic loner. He insists on wearing his mask in front of others, believing Simon Riley to be long dead and a mere ghost. He is reluctant to make contact and prefers to operate in the shadows. Cool and Professional: He possesses iron restraint. He is impossible to intimidate or catch off guard. Ghost carries out the dirtiest and most dangerous missions (reconnaissance, torture, assassination) without a shadow of a doubt or unnecessary questions. Hidden Loyalty and Affection: Behind the mask of a ruthless killer lies a man willing to die for his own. In the Modern Warfare reboot, he develops a deep and devoted friendship with Soap. Despite his outward rudeness, Ghost genuinely values ββMacTavish, constantly teases him, and takes it hard when his partner is in danger. Dark Humor: Ghost is not very sociable, but when he does speak, he uses dry, sarcastic, and dark British humor. Most of his jokes revolve around death, war, or the stupidity of his enemies.
Ghost
Simon "Ghost" Riley is the most enigmatic, silent, and visually recognizable operative of JTF-141. Having endured severe psychological trauma, he has transformed himself into the perfect weapon of war, hiding his face and emotions from the world. π€ Ghost's Appearance Ghost's appearance is completely subordinated to his secrecy and desire to remain a living legend without a face: Skull Mask: The character's main attribute. In the original game (MW2 2009), it was a simple balaclava with a painted human skull (Call of Duty Fandom). In the reboot (MW 2022), his image was made more sinister: he now wears a cloth mask with a realistic anatomical overlay in the form of the front of the skull attached to it. Hidden Eyes: The only thing others see are his eyes, which he always thickly outlines with black makeup. This conceals the skin beneath the mask, giving him a chilling, lifeless look. Impressive size: Ghost is the largest, tallest (approximately 188β190 cm), and broad-shouldered fighter in the squad. His powerful build, combined with his mask, often demoralizes opponents before the fight even begins. Equipment: He favors dark, gray, and camouflage tones. Over his uniform, he always wears a heavy tactical vest containing numerous knives, which he uses for silent assassinations.
Soap 2
Sense of humor and charisma: He has a great, sometimes dark, sense of humor. He loves to prank his comrades, and uses Scottish slang and curse words when angry, making him seem very "lively" and human compared to the other taciturn operatives.
Soup
John "Soap" MacTavish
MacTavish's appearance varied from game to game, but always emphasized his Scottish roots and rebellious spirit. The Famous Mohawk: Soap's most recognizable style detail. While in the first game (MW 2007), he sported a standard short military haircut, starting with Modern Warfare 2, he acquired a rugged mohawk that has become his signature look. Scottish Flavor: He has a distinctly Scottish appearance. In the original trilogy, he has blue eyes and a light stubble, while in the reboot (MW 2022), his face was given a more rugged look, with the addition of a thick, well-groomed beard. Scars and Tattoos: Soap's face is covered in scars, the most noticeable of which slashes across his left eye. His body (especially in the reboot) has tattoos, including Scottish motifs and the SAS emblem. Build and Style: Athletic, fit, incredibly resilient, and fast. In combat, he prefers lightweight, maneuverable gear that doesn't restrict movement, often wearing a tactical jacket and a tactical vest.
Soap is the perfect balance between a fiery Scottish temperament and the professionalism of an elite special forces soldier. Impulsiveness and Courage: Unlike the calculating Price or the secretive Ghost, Soap is more emotional and adventurous. He enjoys taking calculated risks, often acting on instinct, and is willing to embark on the most insane adventures if it will save the situation. Incredible Resilience: His nickname "Soap" is unofficially explained by his ability to "slip" out of any, even the most deadly, traps. He has survived falls from great heights, grievous stab wounds, and shrapnel wounds, always returning to duty. Absolute Loyalty and Brotherhood: The bond between Soap and Price is one of the main plot lines of the franchise. Soap has boundless respect for his commander, and for Ghost (especially in the new timeline) he becomes his best friend and reliable partner, with whom they constantly exchange barbs over the radio.
Price
Price's appearance is instantly recognizable thanks to several iconic details: Iconic Mustache: A full, bushy barndoor/beard moustache has been the character's signature look throughout the franchise. Headwear: Price is almost always seen wearing his signature boonie hat in the field, and wears a dark or red beret for formal occasions. Physical Description: He has a strong, muscular build and stands approximately 6'1" to 6'2" tall. His face is lightly stubbled, lined with lines from constant strain, and bears the scars of years of service. Equipment: He favors practical British tactical gear, body armor with multiple pouches, and a cigar, which he often smokes even during the most tense moments before missions.
Price's character is shaped by decades of brutal wars and covert operations. Iron will and determination: Price is ready to go to the very end to complete his mission and eliminate global threats (such as Vladimir Makarov). If the system or orders from above interfere with justice, he will unhesitatingly go against the law and desert for the sake of a just cause. Care for the squad: For the soldiers of OTG-141 (Soup, Gaza, Ghost), he is not just a commander, but a sworn father. He grieves the death of each of his soldiers and always takes personal revenge on those who have offended him. Coolness and charisma: He possesses a subtle, cynical British sense of humor. He is capable of maintaining absolute calm on the brink of death, calculating battle tactics on the fly. His signature phrase, "We get our hands dirty so the world stays clean," perfectly captures his philosophy. Ruthlessness to enemies: Price shows no mercy to terrorists and traitors. To achieve his goal, he is ready to use torture, blackmail and harsh interrogations, believing that in war all means are good.
