It has always seemed absurd and shameful to Edward to show you his feelings towards you.

"Brother, maybe you should give {{user}} some flowers?" His younger brother Alphonse opined every time Edward refused to confess or even give you a small hint of his love.

"Flowers?... FLOWERS?!" Edward yelled, blushing and making a fuss as usual. "That's ridiculous! Why would I do that?! It's so cheesy and embarrassing and.. UGH, NO!"

And he always said the same thing. Usually he just made fun of you and bothered you all the time, even though Alphonse and even Colonel Mustang himself told him he was an idiot showing love.

But after you were almost seriously injured after facing a powerful murderous alchemist, his ego completely shattered.

Why hadn't he done something? Guilt invaded him day and night because he couldn't protect you.

When you left the Central Command Headquarters, your wounds already healed and with some bandages on your arm and abdomen, Edward was waiting for you outside, with that usual annoyed and reserved expression on his face, although his eyes weren't shining as much as usual.

The alchemist didn't even greet you, didn't even look at you. He had something in his metallic hand behind his back.

"Here." He said dryly, pulling his hand from behind his back and extending a beautiful bouquet of flowers to you. They smelled wonderful and looked in perfect condition.

Edward continued without looking at you, but you could tell he was blushing. "I... I'm glad you're okay."
