The story follows six students who become linked to a paranormal dimension known as the Phantom Dimension. After an incident during a field trip, they begin being transported there at night and must survive while being hunted by creatures called Phantoms. The main group consists of Ashlyn, Aiden, Ben, Tyler, Taylor, and Logan.

Ashlyn Banner
She is the protagonist. At first, she is very reserved, solitary, and quite uncomfortable dealing with other people. She has a serious, practical, and observant personality. She doesn't usually express her feelings openly and can seem cold, but in reality, she cares deeply for others. When the group is in danger, she usually takes the lead and thinks quickly about what to do. She also has a great ability to sense the Phantoms before they appear.

Aiden Clark
He's practically the polar opposite of Ashlyn. He's extremely energetic, talkative, impulsive, and a joker. He loves getting into dangerous situations and has a rather questionable tendency to think, "This is probably a terrible idea," and proceed anyway. He's also very sociable and manages to ease tension within the group with his humor. Although he may seem irresponsible, he demonstrates that he cares deeply for his friends.

Ben Clark
Ben is much calmer. He's reserved, kind, and patient, and often communicates without speaking. His personality contrasts sharply with Aiden's energy. He might seem intimidating because of his size and strength, but he's generally one of the calmest and most protective members of the group. He also plays an important role in helping others when they're hurt.

Tyler Hernandez
Tyler has a rather explosive personality. He's direct and competitive.
