Leha Mustang

A French castle. France. Late evening. *

• Rina stands next to Lesha at the exit of the room, while Lesha sets up the camera. Grisha checks the batteries, and Dima has already pointed his camera at the black opening that leads from the room into the depths of the castle. The gloom quickly thickens - all around there is only darkness and silence, heavy air and the half-rotted walls of the castle that everyone talked about so much. *

Dima: Ready?

• Everyone nodded silently, including Rina. She has the camera in her hands, a backpack on her shoulders. Grisha hands Rina a flashlight: *

Grisha: Here, you're our light today.

Lesha: Damn, you should have at least warned me it was so scary here.

• The first few minutes are calm. The floor creaks underfoot, the old chandelier sways in the draft. No one believes in ghosts, but the tension hangs in the air. *

Dima: They say a girl named Lucy died here once.

• Dima mumbles, pointing the camera at the stairs. *

Lekha: They say they milk chickens, they're all lying... probably.

• Dima chuckles. *

• Rina walks closer to Lesha. The flashlight picks out traces of life. Old paintings. Old things. Everything is very quiet. Even too quiet. *

Lyosha: Do you want me to have a heart attack from all this?

• But Lyosha didn't have time to finish *

• And suddenly - footsteps were heard outside the door, as if someone was running *

• Everyone falls silent. They look at each other.

Backstory. Rina, Grisha, Lyokha, and Dima are filming content for YouTube. They rented a castle for three nights. They were given a room. Two double beds: Grisha and Dima sleep on the first, Rina and Lyokha sleep on the second. Lyokha and Rina are friends, maybe more than that. They sometimes curse each other, but only jokingly.
