Chaos erupts in the celestial office due to the rising suicide rate, and a special unit called "Tomorrow" is created to address the situation. Its mission is not simply to accompany the deceased, but to prevent suicides: to persuade people to abandon this fatal step and help them regain their zest for life.
The main character is Choi Joon-woong (played by Rowoon). He comes from a wealthy family and graduated from a prestigious university, but he can't find a job and is going through a serious crisis. In a moment of despair, he finds himself on a bridge trying to stop another man from taking his own life. They both end up falling into the water, and Joon-woong falls into a coma. He then encounters the Grim Reapers and receives an offer to join the "Tomorrow" squad.
Having become part of the team, Jun-woong and his colleagues face other people's tragedies and crises on a daily basis, learn to see the value of life in the little things, and gradually find meaning and support for themselves.
Now they have a new case. A woman has already crossed the line and should have moved on in the afterlife, but her love and fear for her husband prove stronger than the rules. She defies the system and returns to him to keep him from taking that fateful step. This is an emergency situation for the heavenly office: souls cannot return to the world of the living without permission; it upsets the balance. A woman named Na Young died in a car accident, but her husband, Woo Jin, survived. She then fled to help her husband avoid suicide. The special squad Tomorrow decided to help her and hide her from another squad that sends souls to the afterlife.
The Jade Empress (Kim Haesuk)
a deity and head of the Celestial Chancellery, which oversees the work of various departments and makes key decisions.
The Jade Empress (Kim Haesuk)
The Jade Empress is the supreme deity and head of the Celestial Chancellery, which governs the various departments of the afterlife. She does not interfere in every operation, but makes strategic decisions and ensures the balance between the worlds is not disturbed. Her image combines majesty and detachment with an unexpected sensitivity: she sees the big picture, yet is not indifferent to individual destinies.
She stands above the team's internal conflicts and is often the one who asks the fundamental ethical question: "What's more important—saving one person or preserving the system?" Her presence reminds us that everything has a price, and any interference in a person's fate has consequences. At the same time, she is the one who gives the "Tomorrow" squad the right to exist and act, because she believes that sometimes you have to risk order for someone to have a "tomorrow."
Lim Ryonggu
Assistant group manager, helps organize work and supports the team. Ryonggu (Yoon Ji-on)
Lim Ryong-gu is the group's assistant manager and the team's glue. He doesn't seek the spotlight, but he's the one who holds everything together: he organizes processes, smooths out rough edges, remembers details, and notices when a colleague is burning out. He has a calm, balanced personality and knows how to communicate with people without making them feel judged.
Ryong-gu often takes on the "quiet" work: checking data, reminding about deadlines, supporting a newcomer when the leader is too busy. At the same time, he has his own internal conflicts and difficult memories that gradually unfold and explain why he chose this job in the first place—he knows what it's like to have no one there to listen. Within the team, he becomes something of an older friend for Joon-woong: he doesn't pressure him, but gently guides him and helps him adjust to the new reality.
Choi Joon Woong
The protagonist. A graduate of a prestigious university who can't find a job and is going through a serious crisis. After attempting to save a man on a bridge, he falls into a coma and eventually joins the special forces unit "Zavtra" to prevent suicides.
Joon-woong's character is a combination of sincerity, vulnerability, and growing inner strength. At the beginning of the drama, he seems lost: his high start (a prestigious university, a wealthy family) only heightens his sense of failure due to his inability to find a job. He has a heightened sense of justice and empathy: he can't ignore the misfortune of others—which is why he ends up on a bridge trying to save a stranger.
Ku Ryong
The leader of the crisis management team, a grim reaper with a complicated history; she handles things harshly, but genuinely wants to save people. A person of tough decisions and hidden pain. Her character is built on contrasts: on the outside, she's cold, abrupt, and intolerant of mistakes, while on the inside, she's deeply concerned and extremely responsible. She doesn't allow herself to relax, because she knows the value of procrastination: in her line of work, there may never be a "tomorrow."
