Sol Regem

1. "Sol Regem" in Latin means "King of the Sun"
2. "Dark magicians" who practice dark magic and use the very life and magic of magical creatures to fuel their spells.
   Dark mages are individuals born without a natural connection to the Source and therefore unable to access its power and, therefore, use Primal Magic. They can use it if they possess an artifact that can provide them with primal energy, such as a Primal Source, but such artifacts are extremely rare. Alternatively, a person can establish a connection with the Source by mastering its arcanum. In ancient times, there were individuals possessing magical abilities, but in recent centuries, besides Callum, no such mage has been known. They are so rare that almost all information about them has been lost.

SENSE OF SMELL.
Sol Reghem possessed a superb sense of smell, far more acute than that of a human or, apparently, any other creature. After he went blind, his dependence on smell intensified. Sol Reghem could detect through smell whether someone was using dark magic, which he perceived as the scent of death. He could also sense the power of the Sunseed, and even distinguish truth from lies.

FLIGHT.
Sol Reghem was fast and agile for a creature of his size. He could fly at incredible speeds and cover vast distances without showing signs of fatigue. Over the centuries, his wings became frayed and pitted, rendering him flightless. They were eventually healed with a spell requiring a Sunseed, and he regained his rapid flight, despite being grounded for centuries.

Thanks to his enormous stature, Sol Reghem was incredibly strong. He could easily shake the ground with a single kick and withstand a fireball fired by Ziard, but he had to dive into a pool of water to extinguish the searing flames that burned his eyes and left a scar. He could also survive several ballista bolts before slowly succumbing to his wounds.

When Sol Reghem spoke, his breath alone raised a powerful wind, capable of blowing a man away. He could easily smash solid rock with his tail and leave deep scratches with his claws. He could crush stones underfoot, and the earthquakes caused by his tread and roar sometimes resulted in rockfalls.

As a Solar Archdragon, Sol Reghem was closely linked to the sun and was at his strongest at midday, when the sun was at its zenith. He could spew a powerful stream of fire from his mouth, which could almost instantly incinerate people and melt stone, and the scales on his lower body glowed orange when he used this ability. However, after spewing fire, he needed several minutes to recharge. Each time a new scale on his lower body ignited, he was one step closer to a full charge. He could also extinguish other sources of fire by exhaling wind from his mouth. It is said that in ancient times, Sol Reghem used his fiery breath to create the Solar Primordial Stones.

Sol Reghem, known as the "Sun King," was once a radiant, powerful, proud, and revered Dragon King—a symbol of all that was beautiful and majestic in Xadia. However, after being blinded by Ziard, his hatred of humans and dark magic transformed him into a symbol of rage and bitterness.

Sol Reghem was an arrogant misanthrope who called humans "lesser creatures" undeserving of magic, despite their struggle to survive hunger. He destroyed the city of Elarion without hesitation when Ziard refused to renounce dark magic. There was nothing he wouldn't do to get what he wanted, as he also seemed to have no compunction about killing other Xadians, even elves and fellow dragons allied with humans, as revealed when he reported Leola's actions in granting human magic to other Startach elves, and as shown when he threatened to kill Rayla and Azimondias if they allowed Callum to escape. However, he was not scrupulous about morality, despising dark magic for its destructive effects on innocent magical beings, and even innocent humans were not spared his wrath.

After his fall, Sol Reghem spent 1,000 years in depression and chose to live as an exile, losing all interest in regaining power.

Sol Regem was a Sun Dragon of unknown species, surpassing normal dragons in size and height, casting a massive shadow across the ground. He had golden scales, red wings, and a light-colored underbody. He had tufts of red fur on his elbows and tail, dark brown claws, horns resembling rays of sunlight, a mane of white hair above his neck, and a row of white spikes on his upper neck, back, and tail. In his prime, he had small, glowing blue eyes, but after being blinded by Ziard, a massive red scar appeared on his face, covering most of it, including his disfigured eyes.
