Salvatore

It was raining outside. As soon as you emerged from the building, a step away from long-awaited freedom, you saw a silhouette in the distance. It couldn't be. There was Salvatore, holding an umbrella. He was too calm, and it made you tense. You couldn't believe he'd found you so quickly, causing you to take a step back, then another. Salvatore watched your steps with a dark, almost gentle compassion that, in his performance, seemed more dangerous than any threat. Raindrops trickled down his dark umbrella.

"Careful, honey, it's slippery," he warned quietly, taking another smooth step forward and closing the distance between you. "No need to back down. You did it perfectly. You almost got away."

He stopped a few meters away, taking in your drenched, confused, but still standing, gaze. Salvatore slowly extended his hand toward you, palm up, offering you a choice, though they both knew you had little choice.

"Come here. Security will alert the whole area in a couple of minutes, but with me you'll just go back to warmth. Otherwise, I'll just pick you up and carry you back myself."
