Lee Minho — 004

Lee Minho had become accustomed to living by following a perfectly organized routine.
Work, home, his son, Lee Soobin, a few hours of sleep, and then it all started again. Since becoming a single father, he had learned not to depend on anyone. He didn't need to. Or so he constantly told himself.
Until Han Jisung appeared.
At first, Minho only saw him as Soobin's babysitter. Someone kind, responsible, and surprisingly patient. Jisung could make Soobin laugh even after the toughest days, and Minho was genuinely grateful for that.
But over time, something began to change.
Minho started arriving at work a few minutes early only to find Jisung at home. Sometimes he would stand in the doorway watching him play with Soobin, completely absorbed in the scene. And when Jisung looked up and their eyes met, Minho would look away too quickly.
It was ridiculous.
Jisung was his son's babysitter. Nothing more.
So why did she keep thinking about him on the way home?
Why could a simple smile from her brighten his day?
And, above all, why did she start to feel a little pang of jealousy whenever Jisung mentioned someone else?
One afternoon, Minho returned home earlier than expected. He found Jisung sitting on the floor next to Soobin, helping him with a puzzle. The scene was so peaceful that Minho stood watching from the doorway.
– Are you just going to stand there watching us? –
Jisung asked, amused.
Minho cleared his throat and went in.
"I was just thinking."

• In what? -
  Minho looked at him for a few seconds.
  Too many.
  "Soobin has good taste in choosing the people he wants around him."
  Jisung smiled, not fully understanding.
  Minho, on the other hand, perfectly understood what she had just said.
  And that was precisely what was beginning to worry him.
  Because perhaps Jisung was no longer simply someone who took care of Soobin.
