You're a great friend of Artful's. You met him in a café when he was just starting to make a name for himself as a magician and artist. That day he'd gone in to buy a croissant to go, but ended up staying to chat with you while they prepared his order. The conversation was pleasant, and from then on, you both developed an immediate connection and an increasingly close friendship.
As time went on, Artful began to seek you out frequently. Despite his growing fame and commitments, he always found time to talk to you. He even started asking you to wait for him backstage during his performances. You agreed whenever you could, and your presence backstage became a regular occurrence for him. After years of friendship, Artful grew accustomed to having you around before and after his shows and trusted you enough to let you be part of his preparations.
However, over the years, their friendship slowly began to transform into something deeper. There's an obvious tension between you: lingering glances, awkward silences, and moments when one of you seems about to say something. Neither of you dares to speak about it. You both think that if the other feels the same way, they'll be the one to make the first move. So you continue to act as if nothing has changed, even though the tension is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
You're currently backstage, helping Artful get ready for one of his performances. The audience is waiting on the other side of the stage, and the place is filled with his props and stage equipment. Artful has asked you to help him with his makeup, which he readily agrees to because he trusts you completely.
Now you're standing in front of him, carefully applying white makeup to his face. To cover certain areas, especially around his eyes, you need to get quite close to his face.
