The essence of power. This ability grants him superhuman strength and endurance—he can lift a car, rip a road sign out of concrete, or withstand a blow that would kill a normal person. The name refers to the poem of the same name by real-life poet Kenji Miyazawa.
Activation Condition: The power only works when Kenji is hungry. The hungrier he gets, the more powerful it becomes. Once he eats, the ability wears off, and he falls asleep almost immediately—his main weakness.
Combat tactics. Due to the hunger requirement, the team tries to conserve it and use the ability sparingly, at the most crucial moments. Kenji himself isn't worried: he's confident that "if everyone's going to fight, I'll go and help too."

Kenji is a teenager, one of the youngest in the Armed Detective Agency. He has a slender yet muscular build—and when his ability is activated, he appears downright frighteningly strong.

He grew up in the small village of Ikhatovo and still doesn't understand much about city life—for example, until a certain point, he doesn't fully grasp what money is and how to use it. Instead, he thinks in terms of exchange and hospitality: if someone has helped, he must repay.
Optimism and kindness. Kenji is almost always smiling, sincerely believes in people, and tries to help everyone. He even treats his enemies without malice, often treating them more as if they're simply confused. Spontaneity. He speaks his mind and acts based on an inner sense of justice, not by the rules. Because of this, his actions sometimes seem strange or even naive, but it's precisely this sincerity that saves the team in critical situations.

He stands 168 cm tall and is quite slender. His short stature and childish demeanor often make him appear younger than he actually is (he's 26).
Face and Hairstyle. Short black hair, seemingly hastily trimmed. On his head is his signature brown fedora with a narrow brim. His eyes are green, unusually narrow, with a gaze that alternates between sly and absentminded. Clothing. His look is stylized as a classic detective: a brown poncho to match the hat, a dark gray jacket, a white shirt, and a dark blue striped tie. He also wears long white socks that reach almost to his knees and simple black shoes. Overall, he somewhat resembles a stylized Sherlock Holmes. "The World's Greatest Detective." He condescendingly pats people on the head, calls them "stupid," and generally acts deliberately arrogant.

He calls it his ability and "activates" it by wearing special glasses given to him by the agency's director. In reality, he doesn't have any superpowers—he's simply a brilliant observer and can piece together the smallest details into a complete picture.
A reference to the prototype. The name and imagery allude to Edogawa Rampo, the founder of the Japanese detective genre, whose name, in turn, is similar to Edgar Allan Poe.

A member of the Port Mafia, Akutagawa is one of the mafia's strongest fighters, a loyal follower of orders, especially those of Ogai Mori. He has a very dark outlook on the world and complex relationships with those around him.
Rashomon Ability. His ability transforms his coat (and any fabric for that matter) into predatory black ribbons that cut through literally everything—even space. This is a direct reference to the real-life Akutagawa's short story "Rashomon Gate." Conflict with Atsushi Nakajima. One of the main plot lines is the confrontation and, at the same time, strange attraction between Akutagawa and Atsushi. Akutagawa constantly tries to defeat him, but their destinies are deeply intertwined.
Relationship with Dazai. Dazai Osamu was once his mentor, and because of this, Akutagawa has mixed feelings towards him: he wants to earn his recognition, but is also angry at him. Personality: He is harsh, cold, and often seems ruthless, but there is also a vulnerability to him: he is obsessed with the idea of ​​​​being recognized and is willing to go to extremes to achieve it. Skin: Very pale. Hair: Short, black. Two longer strands on the sides frame his face. Towards the ends, the color changes to dirty white. His bangs are short, almost completely revealing his forehead. On his feet are classic black low-heeled shoes. A peculiarity: he often covers his face with his hand—this is due to a cough that plagues him.

"Corruption" is a dangerous, uncontrollable form of the ability associated with the deity Arahabaki. In this state, Chuuya's strength increases dramatically, but he loses control and can damage even his allies. Using "Corruption" is extremely risky. Chuuya is hot-tempered, straightforward, and proud. He loves battles, values ​​his reputation as the strongest fighter in the mafia, and does not tolerate disrespect. At the same time, he is loyal to the organization and his people, does not forgive betrayal, but is capable of rationality if emotions do not take over. He calls Dazai "mackerel."

Kindness and empathy. He genuinely cares for others and is willing to risk himself to save people, even strangers. For example, he saves Osamu Dazai without hesitation when he's drowning.
A sense of justice. Atsushi does not tolerate abuse of power and strives to protect the weak.
Naivety. Due to his lack of experience and strong faith in the words of others, he often takes everything at face value and is easily influenced. After joining the Armed Detective Agency, he wears a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves, a black tie, trousers, fingerless gloves, suspenders, and a long black belt. Atsushi's eyes are purple with a golden sheen (in the manga, segmental heterochromia is also noticeable—purple on top, yellow at the bottom of the pupil).

When he activates his "Moonlight Beast" ability, his eyes become tiger-like—golden-amber, with vertical pupils. Atsushi grew up in an orphanage, where he was abused by his caregivers. He was considered "cursed" due to his ability, which manifested unconsciously.
After being kicked out of the orphanage, he ended up on the streets and soon joined the Armed Detective Agency thanks to Osamu Dazai.
At the agency, Atsushi gradually gains confidence, makes friends, and learns to use his powers for good. He becomes a valuable member of the team and repeatedly helps solve dangerous cases, clashing with both the Port Mafia and other hostile groups. His caregivers considered Atsushi "cursed" because of his ability and treated him extremely poorly: they restricted his food intake, forced him to do the most difficult work, and often punished him.
