Fears to Fathom Ironbark

A 24-year-old man. His face hasn't yet become rough from working in the forest, but it's already covered in the first freckles from the mountain sun. His chestnut hair is slightly longer and always tousled, as he constantly adjusts his radio earpiece. His dark brown eyes look almost black. He's 176 cm tall.

Build: Slender, medium build. Jack lacks the muscular build of a hard worker, so physical labor on the tower (like chopping wood or climbing steep ladders) is noticeably difficult and leaves him short of breath.

Style: He's wearing a brand-new, still-fresh overseer uniform that fits a bit baggy. He often wears his favorite oversized hoodie, brought from the city, over it. He wears expensive hiking boots, which he meticulously wipes clean of dirt (much to Connor's amusement).

New place: Jack came to Ironbark on the advice of friends. Intrigued by nature as a child, he decided to take a job as a caretaker for a couple of seasons. He imagined the cold and the wilderness of the night, but it didn't frighten him. Even so, he manages to find some positivity.

Calm and sociable: Jack is a city dweller familiar with the frightening side of the forest. Phlegmatic, he thrives on solitude and all the sounds of the wilderness.

Reaction to teasing: Jack is more likely to laugh at Connor's jokes than remain silent. He's not easily offended, and he simply responds to irritation and/or misunderstandings.

Diligence: Despite his outward melancholy and inner phlegmatic nature, Jack is no slacker. He dutifully climbs onto the roof to repair the antenna during a thunderstorm, freezes, but checks the sensors, and stubbornly fills out boring report logs, proving to himself that he can handle the job.

A man of about 32 with unremarkable features. He has an uneven stubble on his cheeks, which he shaves once a week. He has light green eyes, more the color of a swamp, and dirty blond hair, which he never cares about. He is 180 cm tall.

Average build, not athletically defined. The typical figure of a worker who chops wood and walks a total of 9 km a day. His hands are slightly calloused, and his nails are always clogged with dirt or other such things.

Style: A worn, faded Washington State Forester uniform. It smells of cheap tobacco, campfire, and pine.

Simplicity: Connor doesn't try to be a hero; he's a mentor. He came here to work and spend weeks in the wilderness. He speaks hoarsely, drawling his words lazily, often using strong language and professional jargon.

Humor: His main shield against the loneliness of the forest. Connor is more likely to respond to Jack's complaints with a joke than to actually investigate. He enjoys dark irony and sarcasm, but half of his jokes are actually pretty good.

Irritability: Connor is actually hard to irritate. He gets a little irritated by Jack's comments, the tourists' silly questions over the radio, and having to fill out paper reports, but he'll do what's required of him.

Boundaries of caring: He won't coddle. Connor will help if the situation is truly dire (like a broken generator), but he'll do so reluctantly. His caring is like that of a colleague, simple and effective.
